Are you planning a Hill Country getaway for a small family? Or maybe you're looking for a peaceful country setting for a couples' retreat. We've got a recently-remodeled guest cabin near Tarpley that sleeps four and fills the bill, no matter what you're seeking! The Valle Escondida Cabin is perched on picturesque Hill Country land, surrounded by wonderful mountain views. It's got its own spring-fed creek, and is close to the attractions and events of Bandera, Tarpley, and Hondo!

Valle Escondida is an ideal vacation rental for the whole family; the entire property is kid and pet friendly! You'll be surrounded by great big Texas skies, breathtaking mountain views, and it's a fantastic spot to watch birds and wildlife. Keep in mind, too, that the tubing fun of the Medina River is close by, as are the Lost Maples and Hill Country State Natural Areas. You'll be at the very heart of the "country" aspects of the Hill Country!

Closer to home, there's a spring-fed creek on the property, creating a refreshing swimming hole and angler's spot for catch-and-release fishing (water levels vary seasonally; please check with us before booking). There's a shaded porch out front complete with comfortable outdoor furniture, too. The guest cabin shares the creek and shaded pavilion with the property's main guest home, and there's a big smoker and picnic tables set up for great family BBQ feasts! Add to that a tree swing, volleyball court, and fire pit, and you'll find plenty of entertainment in the great outdoors.

Natural light fills the interior spaces, with delightful and unique decor touches collected from the property owner's travels. The cabin includes air-conditioning for your comfort, and there's Wifi Internet service for connectivity. Two plush and comfortable queen beds provide restful sleep for up to four people, and there's a half-bath here, too. A unique privacy corner in the living area features a vintage clawfoot tub, and the bed and bath areas all include fresh linens.

For additional privacy and indoor cooking space, you can also book the main guest house at Valle Escondido in tandem with the guest cabin! Not only does it provide ample space and sleeping accommodations for up to 15 more people (for a grand total of 19), but rental of the guest house can include a time-saving and tasty option of having country-fresh meals provided for your whole crew! As a bonus, you'll have the entire rental space to yourself; no having to share with strangers.

The Cowboy Capital of the World: Why Bandera Still Rides Tall

There are towns in Texas with cowboy roots — and then there’s Bandera. Nestled along the Medina River, surrounded by rolling hills and wide-open ranchland, Bandera isn’t just proud of its heritage — it lives it every day. Known far and wide as the Cowboy Capital of the World, Bandera embodies the spirit of the Old West with a genuine authenticity that’s getting harder to find. Here, boots aren’t just for show, rodeos still pack the stands, and a handshake still means something.

There’s a certain feeling you get when you step into the Texas Hill Country — a quiet mix of wonder, freedom, and belonging.
