Property Description

Lots of factors go into planning your perfect Hill Country getaway. Location is important, and privacy, as is meeting fellow travelers in a shared resort setting. All those options and more come together at the Bluebird Cabin in The Nest Cabin Resort! You'll have your own space, shared and fun amenities like a pool and pavilion, all in a location that's close to Pipe Creek and Bandera, with the Hill Country State Natural Area and the Guadalupe and Medina Rivers all within a half-hour's drive!

Embark with us on our amazing Hill Country Eclipse Journey! By astronomical luck, the Hill Country will be in the path of total solar eclipse on Monday, April 8, 2024. We have 125 great vacation homes in the region, covering 21 Hill Country towns, all in the eclipse "bullseye." Experience the enchantment of the darkest night skies, while witnessing the finest solar eclipse viewing in the Hill Country.

We'd like to point out from the get-go that each cabin at The Nest Cabin Resort comfortably accommodates up to three people. However, it's important to note that this is a good-sized resort, and there are several vacation cabin rentals available here! If you're looking for great kid-friendly and pet-friendly Hill Country lodging for a larger group, please contact us for more information on space options and booking availability.

You'll know you've arrived when you see the big red barn, a friendly and welcoming icon that serves as the centerpiece of The Nest. The cabins here are specially arranged so their inhabitants will have privacy when they want it, and each has its own comfy shaded porch and outdoor furniture. The Bluebird Cabin faces west, so you're perfectly poised to see those brilliant Hill Country sunsets! All around the cabin are inspiring mountain views, as well.

If you're feeling in a more social mood, there are great opportunities to strike up new friendships here! Shared spaces and amenities at the resort include a cool and sparkling swimming pool, a spacious pavilion with several picnic tables, a cornhole (bags) game, and even a space dedicated to practice axe throwing (axe throwing is at your own risk and The Nest does not supply axes). Bring your footballs and frisbees along, too; there's a roomy, grassy field with plenty of space right in front of the cabin for tossing and catching. We ask all our guests to play safe; a signed release of liability is required for your stay here, both for your protection and ours. Smoking is allowed at the resort, but outside only.

Beautiful blond woodwork and natural light highlight the wide-open floor plan of the Bluebird Cabin, and every inch of its space is kept comfortable with efficient AC and heating units and ceiling fans. Entertainment is provided by TV with local channels. Comfy relaxation space is provided, with both bar-style seats and a couch. The roomy king-sized bed and futon ensures restful slumber for three people, and clean bed and bath linens are included as part of your stay, too. Speaking of which, the full bath includes an enormous and sparkling-clean shower. Finally, you'll have a full kitchen, with a fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and sink, along with dishes, silverware, and cups.

The Cowboy Capital of the World: Why Bandera Still Rides Tall

There are towns in Texas with cowboy roots — and then there’s Bandera. Nestled along the Medina River, surrounded by rolling hills and wide-open ranchland, Bandera isn’t just proud of its heritage — it lives it every day. Known far and wide as the Cowboy Capital of the World, Bandera embodies the spirit of the Old West with a genuine authenticity that’s getting harder to find. Here, boots aren’t just for show, rodeos still pack the stands, and a handshake still means something.

The Spirit of the Hill Country: Where Texas History and Adventure Meet

There’s a certain feeling you get when you step into the Texas Hill Country — a quiet mix of wonder, freedom, and belonging. Nice place to get away. Pool was amazing. We would sit on the porch and watch the deer come in, they would eat and play.
