Property Description

With its elevated setting and inviting, home-away-from-home charm, the Guest House uniquely offers the best Lake Hiawatha accommodations. You'll have a second-story view of the panoramic, tree-lined lake just behind the house, and the added convenience of the shops, antiquing, cuisine and attractions of Bandera, the Cowboy Capital of the World. Even though the setting here is quiet, private, and rural, downtown Bandera is only a mile or so away. It's a perfect family getaway location!

Waterfront rentals are very popular, and it's not rocket science to figure out why. When it comes to Bandera holiday rentals and homes, the Guest House's perch on the shores of Lake Hiawatha makes it a peaceful and invigorating place to stay. With room to sleep up to six, this spacious getaway will prove to be a hideaway you'll want to return to again and again. There's lots of room in this kid-friendly space, so bring the whole family!

A long balcony/observation deck runs the entire front of the second-story cottage, and it offers inspiring and unobstructed views of the lake and the surrounding Hill Country. The nearby lake is perfect for catch-and-release fishing, bird and wildlife-watching, and cooling your toes in its soothing waters. When you book with us, please ask about the lake's water level, since it varies from one season to another. There's a charcoal grill out back for burgers and dogs, and smoking is allowed on the property, so long as you keep it outdoors.

The Guest House's interior is spacious and airy, letting in plenty of natural light. Central air and heat, and ceiling fans, keep things comfortable all around. There are two bedrooms, each with a queen-sized bed, and an additional queen-sized sleeper sofa in the living area, providing sleeping arrangements for up to six. The full bathroom has a shower, and all bed and bath linens, as well as kitchen utensils, are provided. For added convenience, there's a washer/dryer combo here, too. The kitchen is fully equipped-there's even a dishwasher! A satellite TV with DVD player and VCR are also provided in the living room area.

It's only a phone call away-get a hold of us at Backroads Reservations for the opportunity to reserve this lakefront house rental for your next holiday! It's all part of what makes us locals fall in love with the Texas Hill Country-and we're confident you will, too.

The Cowboy Capital of the World: Why Bandera Still Rides Tall

There are towns in Texas with cowboy roots — and then there’s Bandera. Nestled along the Medina River, surrounded by rolling hills and wide-open ranchland, Bandera isn’t just proud of its heritage — it lives it every day. Known far and wide as the Cowboy Capital of the World, Bandera embodies the spirit of the Old West with a genuine authenticity that’s getting harder to find. Here, boots aren’t just for show, rodeos still pack the stands, and a handshake still means something.

The Spirit of the Hill Country: Where Texas History and Adventure Meet

There’s a certain feeling you get when you step into the Texas Hill Country — a quiet mix of wonder, freedom, and belonging. Maybe it’s the wide skies that stretch forever, or the way the hills catch the evening light just right. It’s rugged yet graceful, wild yet welcoming — the kind of place that invites you to explore, stay a while, and remember what life feels like when it’s simple and real.

The house was super organized, clean and very comfortable. It was a quiet street and the house was right by a lake.
