Property Description

Kerrville is one of the largest towns in the Hill Country, and it's a great place for a fulfilling family escape! The Blue Getaway just outside of town is a fantastic setting for your Hill Country vacation; it's a kid-friendly space with comfortable sleep space for up to 16 people. Both sides of this new duplex-style guest home feature extras like hot tubs, fire pits, Wifi, electric fireplaces,  and more. It's a robust escape with the best of both town and country!

** Hot tubs and decks are private for your stay.

One thing unique to Kerrville is the Guadalupe River Trail! This scenic greenbelt winds alongside the river, dotted with parks with playgrounds, exercise facilities, picnic areas, and more. The Guadalupe is also known for the tubing, kayaking, swimming, and fishing that folks enjoy on and in its waters. The Blue Getaway puts you close to all that adventure!

The Blue Getaway is a new duplex, colored a brilliant light blue that blends in nicely with those pretty Hill Country skies. Ample parking is available in front of the duplex. It's divided into two sections, the Blue Retreat and Blue Oasis, both nicely matched and furnished with comfort in mind.

(Please note: the Blue Retreat and Blue Oasis are two halves of a whole, and are designed to mirror similar amenities and basic setups. For ease of description, the details listed below should be understood to apply to both the Retreat and Oasis sides of the Getaway.)

Whether you're sipping coffee or sharing stories with your family, there's plenty of space to do it outside! Both sides of the Getaway have a spacious open deck with a large umbrella for shade, and a pergola section of the deck that's permanently shaded. There's also plenty of comfy outdoor furniture where everyone can enjoy the fresh Hill Country breezes in comfort. To add a magical touch to your nights, the pergola area is fitted with sparkling string lights and a cascading waterfall feature. There's more intimate and private space on the smaller deck on the second level, outside the master bedroom.

Soothe away the daily stress in the warm and bubbling hot tub out on the main deck, one on each side of the Getaway! Once you dry off, gather your folks around the fire pit for conversation, stargazing, and a tasty fire-roasted snack. If your appetite is fired up for a full feast, there are gas grills here for hearty Texas cookouts! Please note the Blue Getaway property does not allow pets.

All the interior spaces of both the Retreat and Oasis are totally new! They're tastefully outfitted with comfy living area furniture, electric fireplaces to relieve those chilly nights, and central air to soothe during hot Texas summers. For more climate control, there are ceiling fans throughout the Getaway, too! The TVs here are Roku-ready, and you can access streaming accounts with the Wifi service included. Gleaming, modern appliances fill the kitchen, which includes cookware, serving ware, utensils, and glasses. Whip up your morning joe with the combo coffee maker, with both regular and K-Cup brewing options. What's more, you'll have comfortable meal space inside and out, with dining tables both indoors and out on the deck.

A spiral staircase winds up to the second floor. (The spiral stairs are somewhat narrow, and may pose an issue for the mobility-impaired; a wider staircase outside offers access from the deck to the second story.) Upstairs, there's a main bedroom and a loft. The bedroom has a soft queen-sized bed, and the loft has two bunk bed setups, with a total of four twin beds. Add to that a queen-sized sofa sleeper, and there's slumber space for up to eight people. That's just on one side of the duplex; double that for sleeping space for 16 guests total! All the beds here feature adjustable Posturpedic mattresses for added comfort. Each side has two clean full bathrooms, one upstairs and one downstairs, equipped with glass-walled shower stalls (for a total of four baths). All sleeping and cleanup spaces include clean linens. If your stay here is going to be three days or longer, washer and dryer access is also available.

The Cowboy Capital of the World: Why Bandera Still Rides Tall

There are towns in Texas with cowboy roots — and then there’s Bandera. Nestled along the Medina River, surrounded by rolling hills and wide-open ranchland, Bandera isn’t just proud of its heritage — it lives it every day. Known far and wide as the Cowboy Capital of the World, Bandera embodies the spirit of the Old West with a genuine authenticity that’s getting harder to find. Here, boots aren’t just for show, rodeos still pack the stands, and a handshake still means something.

The Spirit of the Hill Country: Where Texas History and Adventure Meet

There’s a certain feeling you get when you step into the Texas Hill Country — a quiet mix of wonder, freedom, and belonging. Maybe it’s the wide skies that stretch forever, or the way the hills catch the evening light just right. It’s rugged yet graceful, wild yet welcoming — the kind of place that invites you to explore, stay a while, and remember what life feels like when it’s simple and real.
