Don't let the unassuming name of A Place on Pecan in Bandera fool you! Logically enough, this wonderful vacation home is located on Pecan Street, which puts you right in the heart of the Cowboy Capital of the World. Main Street is less than a half a block away, and it's a short stroll to Bandera City Park and its access to tubing, fishing, swimming, and kayaking on the Medina River. No matter what the folks in your group are interested in, there will be something close in Bandera to excite them!

A Place on Pecan is a 1930s-era stone bungalow that's been fully remodeled; it retains its classic charm while offering fun and functional modern amenities. Its original carriage house still stands out back, too!

Outside, A Place on Pecan features shaded patios both front and back, and should the early evening skeeters become an issue, half of the back porch is screened in so you can enjoy the breezes and the views without buzzing intruders! There's a big back yard, and a gas grill on which you can whip up a tasty Texas BBQ. The property also includes covered parking for your car or truck.

The inside spaces here are decked out beautifully with wood and stonework, including everything from custom molding and trim to a sliding barn door entrance to the second bedroom. Every inch of the place is climate-controlled, with central air and heat and ceiling fans. There's a comfy and welcoming living area, which flows into the dining space and full kitchen. This space includes not only bar seating, but a dedicated workstation and smart TV, too! The kitchen is equipped with modern appliances, a walk-in pantry, and plenty of cookware, dining ware, and utensils. You'll also find a walk-in laundry room for your convenience!

The two bedrooms here provide sumptuous sleeping space for up to four people. The first bedroom features a queen-sized bed, with a plush and comfy king in the second. Each bedroom has its own full bath with a roomy walk-in shower stall, and both bedrooms feature custom armoires for storage, too! Cleanup and sleeping spaces all include fresh and clean linens for your stay, as well.

The Cowboy Capital of the World: Why Bandera Still Rides Tall

There are towns in Texas with cowboy roots — and then there’s Bandera. Nestled along the Medina River, surrounded by rolling hills and wide-open ranchland, Bandera isn’t just proud of its heritage — it lives it every day. Known far and wide as the Cowboy Capital of the World, Bandera embodies the spirit of the Old West with a genuine authenticity that’s getting harder to find. Here, boots aren’t just for show, rodeos still pack the stands, and a handshake still means something.

The Spirit of the Hill Country: Where Texas History and Adventure Meet

There’s a certain feeling you get when you step into the Texas Hill Country — a quiet mix of wonder, freedom, and belonging. Maybe it’s the wide skies that stretch forever, or the way the hills catch the evening light just right. Maybe it’s the old stone towns, where history whispers through limestone walls, or the rivers that carve their way patiently through time. Whatever it is, this place has a spirit all its own. It’s rugged yet graceful, wild yet welcoming — the kind of place that invites you to explore, stay a while, and remember what life feels like when it’s simple and real.

Exactly as described. Very nice, clean rental.

Great Stay! The house was cozy and just like the pictures. It’s located across from a church and the street was quiet. We even had deer roaming around out front in the evening. It is within walking distance of some of the shops and restaurants and even the reenactment of a cowboy shootout Saturday morning took place right across the way! We could also hear some of the live music one night just sitting on the porch swing (couldn’t hear it inside though). I would definitely stay here again on my next trip to Bandera!

Hosts are amazingly responsive- we knew we would be late due to flights etc, and may check out early (same issue!)- dealt with us and assisted with details. House is quiet, private, immaculately clean and we had a peaceful stay.

Excellent remodel of a typical old home in Bandera. Outside looks classic with porch swing and rocking chairs, but inside is all modern and new! Perfect for one or two couples since there are two large excellent bathrooms. Our K bed was very comfortable. The screened porch was lovely the one night it was warm enough to stay out. You’re walking distance to almost everything you want in Bandera town…right up from the courthouse. We stay in Bandera a lot so this is now the top of our list to come back to!
