Texas Blue Apple Cottage

Property Type : Houses

Property Description

Location is everything, they like to say in the business world. That also applies when you're looking for a great vacation home in the Hill Country, and the Texas Blue Apple Cottage in Medina fills the bill nicely! Its picturesque small town/country setting is kid and pet-friendly, and it's close to Medina River access, Lost Maples and Hill Country State Natural Areas. While you'll enjoy the peaceful perks of the location of your "home base," great Hill Country towns like Bandera are close by!

Medina is the Apple Capital of Texas, so there's no better name for this beautiful sky-blue guest home than the Texas Blue Apple Cottage! What's more, Medina's Love Creek Orchards and Apple Store are next door to the Texas Blue Apple Cottage, for a unique fresh-air orchard experience, country store, patio cafe, and even a pumpkin patch in the fall. If you run into any locals at the Apple Store, tell them you're staying at the former home of Elayne's Hairstyling, and they'll know exactly what you mean; she was a familiar face and popular stylist in Medina for years!

The Texas Blue Apple Cottage has recently been remodeled, and its brilliant blue and white exterior gives it a storybook vibe the moment you approach. Behind the home, there's a wooden deck with outdoor furniture, a great place to sip morning coffee, discuss your day, or kick back and decompress. Kids and pets can expend their almost boundless energy in the backyard, and there's also a charcoal grill for tasty Texas-style cookouts.

A rustic ranch theme fills the interior, with barn-style doors and beautiful hardwood flooring. The spacious living area includes a large and comfy couch, which faces a Roku-equipped smart TV. For connectivity, there's Wifi service and a large table for when you need to be online. The full kitchen is equipped with modern appliances, a dining room table that seats six guests, and all the cooking and serving ware you'll need at mealtimes. There's central air and heat for year-round comfort, and even a washer and dryer to help you keep up with laundry!

With a plush and comfy queen-sized bed in the bedroom, a soft sofa bed in the living area, and an additional queen-sized blow-up mattress, the Texas Blue Apple Cottage offers restful accommodations for up to six. Both the bedroom and full bath are furnished with fresh linens for your stay. Speaking of the bathroom, we love the reactions we get from our guests when they first see the shower stall; its shower head is a watering can! It's one of the unique touches that make our visitors fall in love with the place.

Pamper your family with the wonderful small-town setting of the Texas Blue Apple Cottage. We can't wait to hear from you, so we can help make your Hill Country holiday a reality.

Nestled alongside the Guadalupe River halfway between Kerrville and Hunt lies the town of Ingram. This community of about 1,800 people is almost a combo of several towns in its vicinity, in that it’s taken advantage of local resources and has capitalized on them to make it a prime example of a Hill Country town. You’ll find farming and ranching in Ingram, wineries that take advantage of the unique local terroir, attractions linked to recreation on the river, and even a model of Stonehenge!

Just east of Hunt in the heart of the Texas Hill Country, you’ll find a marker erected in 2005 that discusses the history of the town and its vicinity. Hunt itself is located 13 miles west of Kerrville, at the junction of the north and south forks of the Guadalupe River. As the historical marker states, the town of Hunt is the ultimate result of three different communities that were founded in more or less the same place!

The Hill Country town of Kendalia is near the Guadalupe River, about halfway between Blanco and Boerne as the crow flies. It’s one of the smaller towns in the region; its population has hovered around 100 the past several decades, and when you count the ranchers and rural dwellers in its ZIP code that number increases to about 350. Nonetheless, Kendalia has a fascinating history all its own.

What guests are saying...

House was very clean , very accessible !! Fit our needs perfect.
Very quiet and cozy. Easy to relax in. With a short drive you can find tons of things to occupy your day with and come back to relax and the property. I will definitely be staying again in the future!
We stayed here for a little Christmas getaway. The cottage was very cozy and comfortable, the location was perfect. This is definitely a nice little gem hidden away in Medina. The location is perfect for exploring the hill country, and also just short driving distance of larger cities such as Kerrville and San Antonio. The cottage was nicely furnished , and well stocked with all the essentials and then some. I loved the bathroom, especially the shower. We definitely look forward to coming back again.
We stayed at the Texas Blue Apple Cottage for 4 days in November. It was a very clean, cozy and comfortable place to stay. We loved the fact that the kitchen and bathroom had everything we needed to make our stay very pleasant. Although we did not spend much time at the cottage, it was so nice to have a relaxing place to come back to after a full day. We will definitely book this place again next spring and highly recommend it to others.
What a charming delight! The cottage was just big enough to comfortably fit our family of 5, and the owners were kind and helpful. It was our first family trip to hill country…breath-taking! We’ll be revisiting this cottage for sure.

My husband and I recently spent a few days at this charming cottage in Medina. It was one of those places where you can absolutely trust it looks just like the photos and better. It was warm and cozy and we felt so at home. We used the kitchen to make a full meal as it was Christmas Eve and we found everything we needed. We took a short drive into Bandera which if you've never been, is another one of those little Texas towns you must see. The Texas Blue Apple Cottage is truly one of those rare finds in which you leave a little piece of your heart behind so we will definitely be returning. Also, we didn't have to go through a lot of red tape to make our reservations on-line...just a few clicks and it was all done!
