RRR Cabin · 1,800 Feet on the Medina

Short Description

A one-bedroom cabin on 15 acres just west of Medina, with 1,800 feet of Medina River frontage, a shade canopy set up in the river and two riverside fire pits. Sleeps 4.

Property Description

The RRR Cabin sits on 15 rural acres just west of Medina, with 1,800 feet of frontage on the Medina River. The river runs from about one to eight feet deep along the property, good for swimming, tubing and fishing. Hill Country State Natural Area is about ten miles away, and Lost Maples State Natural Area is within about 35 miles. Medina and Bandera are an easy drive.

Inside, woodwork gives the cabin a rustic and modern feel. The open main room has a living area, a full kitchen with a stove, oven, refrigerator and microwave, and both booth and bar seating. The bedroom has a king bed, and a sleeper sofa in the living area brings the count to four. There is a full bath with a stand-up shower, Wi-Fi, a smart TV with a Firestick, and both regular and K-cup coffee makers.

The front porch has seating. Outside there is a picnic area with a charcoal grill and an umbrella, riverside seating with chairs and park benches, and two fire pits along the bank. A canopy stands in the river itself, so there is shade out on the water. Two deer feeders bring wildlife in close, and two friendly horses, Sassy and Red Duke, live on the property.

Early check-in may be available on request. Every stay includes the Texas Hill Country Travel App, a local guide for exploring the area.

WHY WE LIKE IT
When guests ask what we like about the RRR Cabin, we start with the river: 1,800 feet of the Medina on 15 acres just west of Medina. There is a canopy set up in the river itself for shade. Two friendly horses live on the property, and there are two fire pits down by the water. For a larger group, the RRR Lone Star on the same property sleeps four more.

The RRR Cabin was a great stay for our quick Hill County getaway. The cabin is well appointed, and the AC works very well. The site is beautiful, private, and very peaceful. Easy access to the water.

It is absolutely wonderful! Great location. It is very peaceful and private, exactly what we were looking for. My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary. We brought kayaks and this was the perfect spot to practice and learn how to manuever them. It’s secluded so there weren’t tubers or other kayaks. Beautiful spot on the Medina river. Jackie and Mario are fantastic hosts! Their property is warm and inviting. Jackie brought us carrots to feed the horses. (Which was a highlight for me) We had such a fantastic and relaxing weekend. Felt right at home. We will DEFINITELY be back!! Already planning next trip. Highly recommend for couples or families!!!

I have used Backroads reservations for several times and have never been disappointed! Our last stay at RRR Ranch in Medina was the best bar far! The property owners were gracious upon our arrival, the cabin was very well maintained, and instructions were clear and easy to understand. The property is perfectly kept up, easy to find, and the water while lower than usual, provided a very relaxing respite! We will definitely be returning here again!

Amazing hosts with a cozy cabin nestled on a perfect property for a peaceful family getaway. They graciously accommodated us with a very last minute reservation after our prior reservation (a different host) had to cancel due to a plumbing issue while we were on our way there. Our host welcomed us as if we were family and made us feel very comfortable with all amenities offered during our stay. We look forward to our next visit to RRR Ranch! Thank you Backroads Reservations for helping us find this little slice of heaven and saving our weekend!
