Such a special house and property! My family of 5 (3 young boys) and two dogs really enjoyed our stay. The bunk room/kids playscape is such a brilliant idea, my boys absolutely loved it! Wrap around porch, private and stunning views all around, plenty of space for us to feel right at home. The weekend weather took a turn so we didn’t get to throughly enjoy the river this round but we still had a blast exploring around! Definitely recommend walking down to the nearest crossing! Very fun to explore!

This place was absolutely beautiful! The little decorative touches were super cute. Very comfortable and kid friendly. I loved the bunk room. The outdoor views were spectacular. It had everything we needed.

We had the most wonderful stay for Easter weekend! The home is spacious and had everything we needed, and then some. The beds were clean and comfortable. The whole home was neat and clean. And the river access was absolutely perfect. Even though the area is in a drought, there was enough water for our kids and us to kayak up and down the river. We had to carry over a few spots to do so, but expect that with any river. My daughter was even able to kayak to an area that was deep enough for her to use her paddle board standing up, rather than sitting as she did for most of it. We can’t wait to get the chance for another peaceful and fun family weekend at the Roadrunner cabin!

If you’re looking for a private, peaceful spot that’s still a close drive to Leakey and Garner State Park — this is it. We’ve stayed in five rentals in the area and this was our favorite. The house is spacious and well maintained. There is very little road and/or neighbor noise. You feel very isolated, yet close enough to anything you may need. It’s an easy walk down to the river. The owners thought of everything to keep the kids entertained, from the spacious garage with the slide to loads of books and games. We appreciated the kayaks that were in the “shed” by the water. You won’t regret choosing this house, so go ahead and book it.

We had a great time, the house was very clean and spacious. Although the river wasn’t high enough for Kayaks, it was nice fishing and listening to the water flow over the rocks. They literally thought of everything and even had treats for the dogs, extra dog beds and any extra thing you may have forgotten. There were lots of games to play and our grandson loved the rock wall and slide!! The stars were amazing and we enjoyed the fire pit with s’mores. We took a day trip to Garner State Park, it was only 30 min from the house. There was a neighbor’s dog that did quite a bit of barking the entire time we were there. That is the only negative aspect of our stay and really can’t be helped. I thought it’s worth mentioning if that’s something that bothers you or are looking for silence with birds chirping and water falls as your only sound, you may be disappointed. However, I would definitely return and would love to stay again in the summer.

I just wanted to take a moment to say we all really enjoyed our stay at roadrunner canyon ranch, even though the weather was not the best. It was so much fun to observe the hummingbirds at the feeder. The river access was great and we all had fun in the clear waters. The kitchen is well stocked, the house itself is comfortable and practical for two families with teens and dogs
