With an open-air porch, screened-in porch, breezeway, and fire pit gives you almost endless entertainment options, and there's a charcoal grill out back, too. This location is a perfect jumping-off spot for scenic tours of the surrounding Hill Country, and there's covered parking available for several vehicles.

The layout here is unique; the porch divides the cabin into two sections. Up front, there's the comfy living area with a fireplace; a full kitchen; a bedroom with a king-sized bed; and a full bath with a tub/shower combo. In the back, you'll find the master bedroom with a king-sized bed, a full bath with a shower and Jacuzzi tub, and a double bunk bed bedroom. Rounding out your amenities are a Roku TV and DVD player, a washer/dryer combo, and window AC units and space heaters. While there is Wifi Internet service available, please be aware its strongest in the front section of the cabin.

One call to Backroads Reservations, and you'll soon be enjoying one of the most beautiful riverfront cabins in Bandera! One visit, and you'll want to come back again and again to this peaceful and spacious Medina River hideaway.

The Hill Country is Wine Country!

In the past two decades or so, the wine industry in the Hill Country has exploded with growth. That’s easy to see, with new wineries opening at a rapid pace...but we, and some of our readers, have questions. How are productive wine regions discovered? Are there official wine producing areas, and if so, how are they designated as such? This article will dig a little deeper into these questions and more.

A Handy Hill Country Q & A

At Backroads Reservations, we’re especially aware that the Texas Hill Country is reliant in a big way on tourism. We’re proud to welcome people here, and to introduce them to our own little corner of heaven. With that said, we’re also aware that everyone can’t be from here; we have a tongue-in-cheeksaying that “I’m not from Texas, but I got here as fast as I could.”

A Park By Any Other Name: Hill Country WMAs

Visitors to the Texas Hill Country are generally aware of the state, county, and city parks available to them for recreation and relaxation. From the sprawling 12,000-plus acres of the Government Canyon State Natural Area to the modest but still impressive 16 acres of Old Tunnel State Park, there’s plenty of space and natural diversity to explore, not to mention parks of wildly varying sizes!

Thank you for a fabulous stay! What a great place to relax! The house is only a 5 min drive out of Bandera, on a quiet country road. The house was clean and super comfortable and just felt inviting and homey the moment we walked in. Kitchen was well stocked, beds were comfortable. Great space for big families because you’ve got the main house in front, and also a back bunkhouse that’s attached by a breezeway. Large screened in porch where we had coffee in the mornings and watched the deer that came up in the yard. There’s also a deck in the back where you can picnic, roast hotdogs, or just sit in the glider and enjoy the view. The house is pretty much central to everything. Bandera is minutes away with great shops and cafes, and its only short drives to Fredericksburg, Boerne or the state parks. So much to do in this area! The host was quick to respond and helpful with any questions we had. Really can’t say enough good things about this place! We will def be back!

Everything was amazing, extremely clean and very well kept. The views were gorgeous. We felt right at home as soon as we arrived. The hosts were very kind, polite and attentive. We loved feeding the deer and walking the property. Bandera is such a cute town with so many activities to enjoy. The house was a perfect location as well. We will definitely be back!

Our family really enjoyed our time at the River Cabin. It was so peaceful sitting out on the back porch in the mornings and watching the deer and birds through the living room windows in the evening. The house layout worked out great for our family, it’s spilt into two hours and gave privacy to the families. Backroads Reservations communicated very well with us and provide tons of information about the area. We will deft be back!

We had a wonderful mini vacation here. The cabin was cozy and welcoming with very lovely decor. We enjoyed watching the birds and wildlife (deer, armadillo, squirrels, and raccoons) come and go across the property. We loved going down to the river and then coming back to relax on the back porch and make s’mores on the fire pit. We couldn’t have had a better time. This was our first time in Bandera. We had takeout from the China Bowl and The Dough Joe. Both were very good. We also went hiking at the Hill Country Natural State Area. It was beautiful. This is a great place for families and an area rich with local history and beautiful landscapes. Our host was great at communicating important information and we loved the extra precautions to ensure that we had a safe stay. We’d love to visit again!

Was a great experience for my boys. Downfall was my parents couldn't experience their grandchildren by the river. We still had fun over the weekend.
Courtney
Super spacious and comfortable!! It is accurate to say this is a ‘home away from home.’ House is quiet and private from surrounding homes. Watching deer eat corn in the front yard was very peaceful and entertaining! I would love to stay here again next year!
