What’s in a Name: Nameless, Texas

About five miles northeast of Lago Vista, and three north of Jonestown, you’ll find remnants of an interesting Hill Country ghost town. Nameless, Texas, never reached even 100 residents, and its overall history was fairly ordinary, but at the heart of its history is one of the most frustrating examples of governmental bureaucracy you’ll find anywhere.

    Antiquing in the Hill Country

Whether you’re traveling to the Hill Country for a quick weekend or a longer getaway of a week or more, we know a lot of you are antique hounds with your sniffer out for a great deal or vintage find. We’d like to take a moment to let you know where the biggest and most popular antique stores, malls, and shows are in our beautiful region! This listing follows no particular order, and doesn’t give preference to one place over another.

Willow City: More Than Just a Loop

While working on an article about viewing bluebonnets in the Hill Country, the Willow City Loop came up came up often in our research. We dug some more and found Willow City has an interesting history beyond its scenery. With that said, we’re taking a closer look at the history and heritage of this Hill Country village.

We loved our stay at this cabin. It was so quiet and relaxing. Being able to view the stars & the Milky Way was an amazing bonus! The house has everything we needed and plenty of space to spread out for our family & dog friendly. The wraparound porch is where we spent the majority of our time, the views are great! We would definitely stay here again.
This property is the perfect getaway from big city life. Quiet, peaceful with some amazing views of the hill countries best assets!!! The cabin was clean and well put together, and exactly as pictured. Communication with the host was great and they handled special requests professionally! Highly recommend Backroads Reservations, looking forward to staying at some of their other locations!

This charming cabin is perfectly perched on a hill with amazing views from the giant front porch. Hummingbirds and deer spotted! It is just as described, and perfectly suited with amenities for a relaxing time. We will be back! Private feedback: This cabin was so perfect. We lived on the gorgeous porch! Great place to stay for the weekend!! Thank you!
This was a quick getaway for our 9 year olds’ spring break, and it was so much fun! The cabin was perfect with little trails around it for them to explore, and perfect for just sitting on the porch taking in the best view! Our family had game nights with games in the cabin. Location is remote but perfect for a relaxing quiet getaway! Thank you!

Great getaway. Comfortable, clean and 100% as described. Convenient to Bandera, and Kerrville. Easy drive to Lost Maples and Garner State Parks. Nice views to the valley from the front porch. Our family had fun making s’mores in the wood burning stove along with marathon Uno tournaments. Cell services is very spotty (which was fine by us). WiFi is available if needed. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a cabin in the woods to escape from it all.
