It's river living at its finest! Not only will you have private access to swimming or tubing on the Frio River, but several tubing and kayaking rentals and drop-off points are close by, too. Star Kayak Rental, your source for tubes and kayaks, and Magers Crossing, a popular put-in point for fun floats, are both close. Outside, the Firewater features two enormous seating areas, both of which are shaded and decked out with picnic tables and and bistro seating. The deck is festooned with colorful party lighting, and the rock patio is home to a charcoal grill-fire up a hearty meal while you take in the natural views of the river and the mountains beyond. The guest house features ample parking and a carport, and the front lawn has everything you'll need for a game of volleyball or horseshoes.
The interior inspires gasps of surprise, from the rugged stone walls and floors to the spiral staircase, stained glass windows, and fireplaces. Five bedrooms (three on the main floor, and two in the loft) sleep a total of up to 20 people, and there are three full bathrooms. The fully-equipped kitchen is a great culinary space, and the living and dining areas include dining and gaming tables, a wet bar, and TV. The living room's windows provide great views of the Frio. Comfort's assured with ceiling fans and central air and heat, and wireless Internet and cell service is on hand. Please be aware that linens and towels are NOT included when you book; please be prepared to bring your own-or rent them for a reasonable fee.
