Property Description

Upon first glance, the exterior evokes the log cabin days of our American pioneers! A closer look tells you the rustic Doe Creek Horse Ranch near Bandera is loaded with comforts and amenities that combine nostalgia and modern luxury in a kid-friendly and pet-friendly family guest house getaway. The ranch is eight acres of Hill Country heaven in a rural setting, that's only a couple miles down the road from the Cowboy Capital of the World. Here's where you make the most of your Hill Country vacation!

Doe Creek Horse Ranch is private and gated for our guests, pets and the ranch's donkeys, Lyle and Lovett. Its pastures are being restored to feature native flowers and grasses, and nature lovers will be delighted with the wildlife they'll spot. You'll find two patios with comfortable outdoor furniture; they're great shaded spaces for conversation, wildlife watching, or admiring the colorful Hill Country. There's even a ranch-style country tub for an outdoor soak, and a daybed for a fresh-air nap. The back porch has outdoor lighting for a touch of nighttime magic, too!

Doe Creek Ranch is a horse-friendly vacation rental! Pictured on its barn is the cowgirl who built the ranch; she competed professionally in the riding event called "reining," and is shown sliding to a stop from a full gallop. Equine amenities include three available stalls, and a 60-foot round pen with a lighted ceiling and sand floor so it can be enjoyed day or night, in any weather. The ranch is a two-mile ride to Bandera, where horses and riders are welcomed! Guided trail rides are available there, so guests can explore the Hill Country in traditional cowboy style on horseback. Ask us for details on bringing your horses to this equestrian paradise! What's more, with the country byways surrounding the ranch, you can take a scenic motor tour, often without seeing any other vehicles.

Woodwork inside draws the eye, from ceiling beams to barnboard highlights to paneling that projects a warm glow. All is kept comfortable with central air, heat, and ceiling fans, along with a stone fireplace. There's plenty of cozy seating in the living and dining areas, and Wifi service keeps you connected. There's also a smart TV in the master bedroom, so bring along your Roku or use streaming apps for entertainment!

There's restful lodging at Doe Creek Horse Ranch for up to five: a king-sized bed in the upstairs master suite, king-sized bed in the downstairs bedroom, and a single bed in the living area. There's also a hammock-style rope bed, more suited for naps than overnight use. All sleeping spaces include clean linens, as do both full baths, each of which feature a tub/shower combo. You'll have the use of a full kitchen, complete with appliances, cooking and serving ware, and even a convenient washer and dryer.

There’s a certain feeling you get when you step into the Texas Hill Country — a quiet mix of wonder, freedom, and belonging. This place is absolutely adorable. The details and decor felt like staying with a friend not at a hotel. Spent most of our time on back porch enjoying the birds, jackrabbits and other wildlife. Went for a great hike and enjoyed some live music, shopping and dinner downtown. Would absolutely recommend to anyone wanting to get out of the city and relax.
Jana

We had a memorable experience in this home. We recommend it to anyone who would like an authentic Texan experience, surrounded by nature, in a beautiful home. Thanks to Jess and Spencer!

If you are staying in Bandera, this place is a must. The only thing better than the house itself was the hospitality. Hoping to come back for years to come.
Linda
What a beautiful peaceful experience! Close to town yet secluded and private. Attention to detail in every nook and cranny, unique and wonderful art and decor around every corner, every creature comfort cared for. The donkeys were adorable, deer and birds everywhere. We can’t wait to come back!
