Property Type : Houses

Property Description

So many varying factors go into placing a location among the top-rated vacation rentals in Pipe Creek, and the Homestead at Madrona Ranch has it all covered! It's perched right in the heart of the beautiful Hill Country, it has tons of amenities and comforts, and it can accommodate larger gatherings, such as family reunions, receptions, and company retreats. Pipe Creek and Boerne are close by, too, so there's the convenience of being close to town while still enjoying a remote country setting.

14 sprawling acres are yours on this waterfront property, a gorgeous mountain view vacation rental that will be the centerpiece of your next Hill Country getaway. If you're seeking a gathering spot for a large group of people, the covered open-air patio here provides a wonderful country setting, with plenty of seating and tables. The property is surrounded by several winding country roads which are perfect for auto or motorcycle tours, as well.

The enormous shaded patio is the focus here, with ample space and a food and drink station, along with a fire pit and barbecue grill. Red Bluff Creek runs through the property, and its waters are perfect for relaxing and wildlife-watching. Water access may depend on the depth and/or season, so confirm this with us when you book. Madrona Ranch allows small pets, so long as they're leashed.

The Homestead's 2,000 square foot space features woodwork and comfy furniture, and a spiral staircase that leads to the loft. Eight beds provide feather-soft slumber for up to ten people: the master has a king; the second bedroom, a queen; and the third has a trundle bed-a single bed with a pull-out single beneath. Finally, there are four double beds up in the loft. The master bath has a large tiled shower, and the second shared bath also has a roomy shower stall. All bed and bath linens are provided, and there are laundry facilities. The full kitchen includes modern appliances, cookware, and serving ware. Satellite TV, a DVD player, wireless Internet, and cell service round out your tech amenities.

We at Backroads Reservations are proud to present the Homestead at Madrona Ranch as one of the greatest Texas Hill Country cabins for family getaways! We'd love to hear from you, and put you on the path to this beautiful destination for your next gathering.

Nestled alongside the Guadalupe River halfway between Kerrville and Hunt lies the town of Ingram. This community of about 1,800 people is almost a combo of several towns in its vicinity, in that it’s taken advantage of local resources and has capitalized on them to make it a prime example of a Hill Country town. You’ll find farming and ranching in Ingram, wineries that take advantage of the unique local terroir, attractions linked to recreation on the river, and even a model of Stonehenge!

Just east of Hunt in the heart of the Texas Hill Country, you’ll find a marker erected in 2005 that discusses the history of the town and its vicinity. Hunt itself is located 13 miles west of Kerrville, at the junction of the north and south forks of the Guadalupe River. As the historical marker states, the town of Hunt is the ultimate result of three different communities that were founded in more or less the same place!

The Hill Country town of Kendalia is near the Guadalupe River, about halfway between Blanco and Boerne as the crow flies. It’s one of the smaller towns in the region; its population has hovered around 100 the past several decades, and when you count the ranchers and rural dwellers in its ZIP code that number increases to about 350. Nonetheless, Kendalia has a fascinating history all its own.

Very comfortable home in Hill country. Beds were comfortable. Kitchen is small but has all the essentials. Lovely porch with lots of comfortable seating. Really enjoyed the hot tub. Great fire pit area, loved the campfire and stargazing. It’s not a very remote area- You can see a couple houses across the field. Some might consider this a pro or a con. We walked down to the creek on the road, which was a nice enough walk, but not a particularly inviting area to sit and play near the water. I’m not sure where else on the property there might be creek access, I did not ask the owner about this. We saw several deer. Peaceful property, that I would recommend.
A group of us had a golf tournament at the nearby Tapatio Springs Resort, and didn't want to rent six different rooms. This place was perfect. It was within 15 minutes of the course, gave us the room to spread out and hang out as a group, the hot tub was perfect for relaxing after the round, and the fire pit was fun to hang out at night. Place was just as described, the hosts were amazing, and we would recommend this spot to anyone! If our tournament schedule brings us to Tapatio Springs again, we won't look anywhere else!
We loved our stay at the Homestead and wish we could have stayed longer. I loved the fully setup kitchen, it made dinner and lunches even more enjoyable . It’s a beautiful home located in between the woods. We had many a visitors like deers, squirrels which we thoroughly enjoyed. The night sky was gorgeous for star gazing. Proximity to restaurants and grocery stores was also great. Absolutely loved the place! Only suggestion I have is to improve the lighting at the back porch Incase anyone wants to use the grill you provided. Also my family heard rustling noises at night and think they saw a coyote outline in the woods. So don’t wander off into the woods at night if visiting. If traveling with pets keep them close at nights. But having said that it all added to the experience of living in the woods and Shirley was a wonderful host! Best wishes for your future endeavors

The house is well equipped with everything you need; the owner also put fresh ice in the freezer and had the a/c on before we arrived. Our dog loved watching the wildlife go past from the porch (where there’s rocking chairs for a nice morning coffee or evening drink). It’s super clean. Massive master bed with en suite too. We’d definitely recommend this house. Owners are beyond helpful and gave us loads of local recommendations. We can’t wait to stay again.
Our destination was Hunt Tx. to drop our daughter off at camp but everything was booked so we looked an hour out and came upon this beautiful place. We stayed in a type of cottage called the Homestead, it was super duper clean and cozy, reminded me of staying at a Granny’s loving house. Shirley, the owner was an angel on this piece of Heaven. The pond or creek bed was stocked With bass and my boys caught several (catch and release) bass. Deer are everywhere. We enjoyed our stay so much, I did not want to leave. *Side note: you’ll need to bring spices and shampoo & conditioner.
This was a beautiful property . The house was spotless. The owners left deer feed out and my babies fed the deer everyday .Our family enjoyed our stay.
