Property Description

Bandera, the Cowboy Capital of the World, is a popular holiday destination in the Hill Country, since its western heritage celebrates Texas' fascinating history! One of the best ways to enjoy Bandera and its shops, cuisine, and nightlife is the Utopia Suite in the Carriage House Inn. It's centrally located; it's just across the alley from the famous 11th Street Cowboy Bar, and less than a block from shops and eateries. Beyond that, the tubing adventures of the Medina River are close by, too!

The Utopia Suite sleeps three people, but we'd like to bring to your attention that the Carriage House Inn provides comfort for up to 25 guests! There are five spacious suites in the inn itself, along with a separate cabin on the property. So, no matter how many of your folks you'd like to bring along to Bandera, there are several options available to you to perfectly accommodate everyone; not to mention you could have the entire place to yourself. Just ask us for details!

Behind the inn is an area shared with other guests. The back yard features a charcoal-fired BBQ pit for cowboy-style feasts, an outdoor fireplace around which you can share stories, and plenty of chairs and tables. String lights give your nighttime activities a special sparkle. The shaded porch up front is furnished with Adirondack chairs, a porch swing, and a great view of a vintage Wild West-era carriage on the property. The Carriage Inn is both kid-friendly and pet-friendly; you're more than welcome to bring a small and well-behaved dog along! First-come, first-served covered parking is provided for the inn rooms, and additional street parking is available.

Cowboy and western-themed antiques and decorative touches highlight the Utopia Suite, balanced nicely with modern amenities, added with your comfort in mind! The guest suite has efficient AC and heating units, along with tech and entertainment extras like Wifi service and a satellite TV. The kitchenette includes conveniences such as a microwave, mini fridge, and coffee station.

Up to three people will sleep in soft and warm accommodations at the Utopia Suite! There's a plush queen-sized bed in the bedroom. The suite's full bath is sparkling clean, and features a shower stall. Fresh and fluffy linens are provided for both bed and bath, along with convenient extras like an ironing board and hair dryer, too!

The Hill Country is Wine Country!

In the past two decades or so, the wine industry in the Hill Country has exploded with growth. That’s easy to see, with new wineries opening at a rapid pace...but we, and some of our readers, have questions. How are productive wine regions discovered? Are there official wine producing areas, and if so, how are they designated as such? This article will dig a little deeper into these questions and more.

A Handy Hill Country Q & A

At Backroads Reservations, we’re especially aware that the Texas Hill Country is reliant in a big way on tourism. We’re proud to welcome people here, and to introduce them to our own little corner of heaven. With that said, we’re also aware that everyone can’t be from here; we have a tongue-in-cheeksaying that “I’m not from Texas, but I got here as fast as I could.”
