The young at heart love the outdoor games area; its central fountain overlooks a carnival's worth of recreation! Equipment is set up for foosball, air hockey, corn hole, tetherball, basketball, and ping pong. Most gaming areas are shaded, and there are tables for relaxing. Keep in mind a small fee may be required for some games, and this area is shared with others.

The guest home features central air for comfort. All is brand new, from the furniture and electric fireplace to the Roku-equipped TV (accessible with Wifi provided). Exciting vacations require some rest, and you'll sleep in style here! Two bedrooms with a total of six beds with adjustable Posturpedic mattresses provide sleeping space for up to eight (one queen, four twins in bunk setups, and a queen sleeper sofa). A full bath on each floor has glass-walled shower stalls, and fresh linens are provided for bed and bath. If you'd like more space, let us know; the full duplex can sleep up to 16!

The Cowboy Capital of the World: Why Bandera Still Rides Tall

There are towns in Texas with cowboy roots — and then there’s Bandera. Nestled along the Medina River, surrounded by rolling hills and wide-open ranchland, Bandera isn’t just proud of its heritage — it lives it every day. Known far and wide as the Cowboy Capital of the World, Bandera embodies the spirit of the Old West with a genuine authenticity that’s getting harder to find. Here, boots aren’t just for show, rodeos still pack the stands, and a handshake still means something.

Maybe it’s the wide skies that stretch forever, or the way the hills catch the evening light just right. Maybe it’s the old stone towns, where history whispers through limestone walls, or the rivers that carve their way patiently through time. Whatever it is, this place has a spirit all its own. It’s rugged yet graceful, wild yet welcoming — the kind of place that invites you to explore, stay a while, and remember what life feels like when it’s simple and real.

I can’t say enough about our experience with The Backroads Reservations. My sisters and I planned a mini get away as we haven’t been around each other in over 20 years. The accommodations were top notch. Everything that you needed was at your fingertips. My sister somehow locked us out and we called and explained our plight. My other sister is a diabetic and needed to get her insulin. They sent someone over within 20 mins . We will be booking our vacation next year through Backroads.
