Vintage Cowboy at 7 Canyons Ranch

Property Type : Houses

Property Description

As soon as you see the wagon wheel on the front porch, you'll know you're in for a genuine Texas cowboy experience! This unique vintage cottage (or "barndominium," as we like to call it) sets the stage for your Lone Star vacation, combining the genuine ranch house look with modern amenities-and, though private and quiet, it's all just a short drive from Hill Country towns like Tarpley and Bandera. The spacious outdoor setting and comfy interior make this the perfect spot, through and through!

All the ingredients are here for the perfect vacation rental for your Tarpley getaway here at 7 Canyons Ranch. Its setting on the 22-acre spread (and access to hiking trails and more on the full 500-acre ranch) are an outdoor lover's delight, and the inviting front porch and beautifully decorated interior offer great opportunities for relaxation, for couples and solo travelers alike.

A shaded porch runs the entire length of the cabin's front, perfect for romantic conversations or simply regaining your peace of mind. Fishing, hiking, wildlife watching, and star gazing are all available at your back door here. Guests love exploring the wide-open spaces, and this is a perfect rental for exploring the countryside. The Vintage Cowboy property is also an ideal "extra" for those renting the nearby lodge, so be sure to ask us for details for such an arrangement. A charcoal grill and fire pit is on-site here, too, and of course the entire landscape is highlighted by those amazing Hill Country views! Smokers are welcome, as long as they do so outside.

As much as we like to highlight the vistas outside, the interior here is a knockout, too! Rustic bunkhouse furniture and other touches give the place a genuine look and feel that says "Texas" all over. A queen-sized bed provides comfortable sleeping for two adults, and overall comfort is assured with central air and heating. The bathroom includes both a shower and tub, and all bath and bed linens are provided. The kitchen is fully equipped with appliances, utensils, cookware, plates, and glasses. Finally, the cabin is outfitted with Wifi, as well.

The Hill Country region surrounding Tarpley and Bandera is known for its rich cowboy history, and 7 Canyons Ranch offers one of the best authentic cowboy experiences you'll find. Come see for yourself-relaxation, fun, and a memorable getaway in a scenic country setting can all be yours when you call us at Backroads Reservations!

What’s in a Name: Nameless, Texas

About five miles northeast of Lago Vista, and three north of Jonestown, you’ll find remnants of an interesting Hill Country ghost town. Nameless, Texas, never reached even 100 residents, and its overall history was fairly ordinary, but at the heart of its history is one of the most frustrating examples of governmental bureaucracy you’ll find anywhere.

We have stayed in various cabins and places. This place was different and glad we picked it. The view, privacy, animals, cabin-well equipped did it for us. Very satisfied and a break from the city enjoying peaceful outdoors clean fresh air! Thank you and we will be back.

We can’t say enough about this place… very clean, off to our selves, other then the Beautiful Animals. We made it the first evening up to the top where the look out is. You must go do it so worth every step you take. The the next day went on a walk all around the land came up on all the different animals, from Deer, To Axes, Buffalo, Elk, Rams to turkeys. We set on the porch in the morning and evening enjoying the views. We live in Southeast Texas around the Refineries so we love this area to get away. This place is truly the best we will be back hopefully a few times a year.. Thank you so much for the owners they reached out to make sure we had everything we needed and available by phone to answer all questions if we had any. If you need WiFi it is there also.

The property and location was a slice of heaven and a wonderful retreat from the stresses of normal life. Plenty of wildlife roaming the property and breathtaking views. We spent many hours hiking and observing everything the ranch had to offer. The landowners were very kind and caring people and have a well known understanding and history of the ranch and surrounding areas. We will return again and again and recommend this to anyone wanting a reset in their normal life. No phones no social media, just a pause in normal everyday life.

The Vintage Cowboy is perfect for 2 people. The ranch is beautiful and so very quite. The night sky was stunning. There are many beautiful drives to travel. The ranch itself has many fantastic exotic animals to watch. The owner, Robert, is a pleasure to visit with and very helpful. You will love this place. We certainly did.

No need to look for other places to stay. This place was amazing. The owners are a super sweet couple and will answer any questions you have regarding the surrounding area. This place is spectacular, the lodge, views, the animals. We were greeted every morning with friendly deer and elk. We can’t wait to go back. It’s our new favorite place in the Hill Country!!!
