The Pedernales Falls State Park near Johnson City is 5,200 acres of stunning Hill Country beauty! There are trails here for hiking, mountain bike and horseback riding, amazing mountain views, facilities for picnics, and wildlife watching spots at the bird blind and butterfly garden. On the river itself, there’s plenty of space to swim, fish, tube, kayak and canoe. Plan for a day in this nature-lover’s paradise! It’s recommended to call ahead for trail and river conditions. Pedernales State Park’s gates are open 8 AM to 10 PM daily, and admission is $6.00 for those 13 and older; 12 and under get in free.
