It's a ranch house rental that sits on 165 scenic acres, with year-round Little Creek flowing close by. This is an ideal location, quiet and rural, yet it's close to towns like Bandera and Concan, and popular attractions like Garner State Park and the Lost Maples and Hill Country State Natural Areas. It's a fascinating Hill Country escape!

In 1866 the founder of Utopia, R.H. Kincheloe, and his family lived on or very near the property that is now Little Montana ("Montana" was his original name for the town of Utopia). In October of that year, their home was the target of a late-night Indian raid, leaving Kincheloe's wife Sarah and their friend Cynthia Bolin gravely injured. Sarah survived, but sadly Cynthia succumbed to her wounds. This story is well-known locally, and traces of its influence echo over the land here. In fact, Little Montana is a popular place to hunt for arrowheads!

Not only will you have access to Little Creek here, but Little Montana also has a refreshing swimming pool to take the edge off the Texas heat! The patio and shaded deck are adorned with comfortable outdoor furniture, and offer a great perch from which to admire local wildlife and those beautiful Hill Country views. You'll also have access to a charcoal grill for an authentic Texas cookout!

Little Montana was built in 1995, and was recently renovated. Your indoor comfort is assured with central air and heat, ceiling fans, and even a fireplace in the living area! The living area, dining, area, and kitchen are all in an open-concept space, so everyone can converse and enjoy time together. With that in mind, there's a Roku-ready TV and Wifi service throughout the guest home, too. Little Montana's kitchen is fully furnished with both appliances and all the cooking ware, serving ware, utensils and glasses you'll need.

Your Hill Country nights will be nice and restful at Little Montana, too! There are two bedrooms here; one has two king-sized beds, and the second has one king, providing warm and comfy slumber for up to six people. There are two full baths, one with a shower stall, and the other with a shower/tub combo. Soft and clean linens are provided for all bed and bath spaces.

Nameless, Texas, never reached even 100 residents, and its overall history was fairly ordinary, but at the heart of its history is one of the most frustrating examples of governmental bureaucracy you’ll find anywhere.

Hey, Spencer! We absolutely loved it! Only issue was I wish we had gone Thursday night and gotten an extra day in. 😊 We'll be traveling all around the country over the summer with the oldest's softball schedule but if we have the opportunity to visit the hill country with the kids, we'll go straight to properties handled by Backroads Reservations. Super efficient and streamlined! Thank you for your help with everything!
