Bandera Stronghold - Cochise Tipi

Property Type : Guest House

Property Description

You've probably heard the term "glamping" here and there; it's a combination of the words "glamour" and "camping." This concept comes alive at the Bandera Stronghold Cochise Tipi, which boosts regular tent camping to a luxurious new level! It's a cozy and brand-new 20-feet-tall by 22-feet-wide accommodation for two, with amenities like a full bath, heat and AC, a kitchenette, hot tub, shaded deck, and more. This creekside getaway is also mere minutes away from Bandera, the Cowboy Capital of the World!

The Tipi offers the historic look of an original portable Native American home, with modern comforts that will make you feel right at home! It's on a scenic, elevated location with sparkling Mason Creek directly behind it; it's rural and peaceful, with places like the Hill Country State Natural Area and the Medina River short drives away. If you're seeking space for a larger group, there are two guest cabins here. Your host lives on site for your convenience, but will respect your privacy while you're a guest here.

Everything surrounding the tipi is brand new and designed for your comfort and enjoyment. There's a roomy shaded deck with outdoor furniture overlooking the creek and the beauty of the Hill Country beyond. Swim in the creek, coast on the water with the provided floats, try your hand at catch-and-release fishing, or admire the local birds and wildlife. Take a moment from your Hill Country day to sink into the warm and soothing hot tub, and enjoy stargazing and s'mores around the fire pit. There's a charcoal grill for your use here, and hot tub and/or swimming towels and biker rags are also provided. Speaking of which, the surrounding roads are perfect for a scenic tour of the Hill Country!

The interior of the tipi is authentically appointed to evoke a night on the prairie during pioneer times...but that's where the comparison ends. There's comfortable sleeping space for two on a plush queen-sized bed, and a TV with a DVD player for cozy movie nights. The efficient heat and AC units can be adjusted to your personal comfort level, and there's even a kitchenette with a mini fridge, microwave, and Keurig coffee maker! Immediately next door is a well-appointed full bath, including a shower and tub combo. Fresh linens are provided for both bed and bath spaces, too. An additional roll-away bed is available for a third guest upon request. Keep in mind there is decent cell service at this location, with limited Wifi availability.

What’s in a Name: Nameless, Texas

About five miles northeast of Lago Vista, and three north of Jonestown, you’ll find remnants of an interesting Hill Country ghost town. Nameless, Texas, never reached even 100 residents, and its overall history was fairly ordinary, but at the heart of its history is one of the most frustrating examples of governmental bureaucracy you’ll find anywhere.

We had a great time at this property. Beautiful heavy duty teepee that had everything you would want from a nice hotel room, but with the cozy feel of a teepee. Very comfortable bed and the a.c. in the teepee kept us comfortable at night. The hot tub was great and the deck was huge and beautiful with trees all around looking out over a river. We watched deer walk across the river and in the wooded area across the river while we ate breakfast on the deck. There is nothing to hear out there other than birds singing and the occasional splash of river life from the river below. You will not want to go back to the city. The host Trisha was very responsive to the few questions we had and made sure we knew we could contact her anytime.

Beautiful tent with plentiful amenities to make us comfortable! The place was super clean & had everything you could possibly need/think of. It was a very peaceful getaway with an amazing outdoor hot tub, pretty scenery, ample porch space, and great fire pit with lots of fresh firewood. Lots of nice touches to make us feel right at home. Would highly recommend!!
