The Spirit of the Hill Country: Where Texas History and Adventure Meet

There’s a certain feeling you get when you step into the Texas Hill Country — a quiet mix of wonder, freedom, and belonging. Maybe it’s the wide skies that stretch forever, or the way the hills catch the evening light just right. The Salt Block in Bandera was the perfect rental for our overnight stay. We were going to a concert at 11th Street Bar and the location of the rental could not have been better. Walking distance to 11th Street and Mainstreet. The unit was clean and furnished to perfection.

Just had a weekend trip and stayed at the Bandera Salt Block and honestly didn’t expect it to be this good. The location alone is amazing—you’re right in the middle of Bandera, so you can pretty much walk to everything. Bars, night life, live music, and restaurants… it’s all right there, but once you’re inside, it’s actually quiet and feels like your own little space. I was surprised because once you step outside, you can hear the music playing at 11th Street Cowboy Bar. The rooms are really cool. It really feels like a little home away from home vibe. You have your own little kitchen, so if you're trying to save a little cash and can make you're own meals, there ya go! You can tell a lot of thought went into the design—especially the bathrooms! They're clean, comfortable, and not your typical cookie-cutter setup. One of the coolest parts is the business next to it - Texas Salt Co. If you haven’t been, I HIGHLY recommend it. I love to cook, so being able to walk over, taste their smoked salts, peppers, paprika, and omg... their bread dip! If you’re coming to Bandera for a night out, 11th Street Cowboy - Steak Night, cowboy event, or just to get away for a bit, I can't recommend this place enough! I love to walk and explore, so the fact I don't have to drive around, is stress free experience enough—just park and enjoy yourself. Can't wait to stay here again!!!

Beautiful place! We had an amazing stay and will definitely be coming back. Everything was clean and well-maintained, and the location was perfect — so many things within walking distance. Highly recommend!

We have come to Bandera once a year for the last three years and this is the best place to stay! Super convenient location, decorated really well, and it’s very clean and comfortable. And the hosts are amazing! I sent a text asking if there was an iron and, y’all, they not only showed up with a brand new iron, but a brand new ironing board too! We will definitely return.
Donna
It was a perfect weekend getaway. The decor was charming, the amenities were outstanding, and everything was clean and well maintained. The bedrooms were a nice size, and the living room was cozy and comfortable. The appliances and kitchen tools were top notch making it easy to whip up a quick breakfast.
