Property Description

This charming new cottage is nestled in the Texas Hill Country town of Tarpley and just a two minute walk from the famous Mac and Ernies Roadside Eatery which has been featured on the Food Channel, Southern Living and Texas Monthly. It's also a great base camp for short trips to Lost Maples State Park, the Hill Country State Natural Area and Garner State Park. You can also take a short walk from the house to the crystal clear waters of Williams Creek.  The cottage is bright and cheery with an open living, dining and kitchen area. The kitchen offers top of the line stainless steel appliances and a breakfast bar. The bedroom which opens on to the front porch has lovely antique pieces and a Queen bed. The large bath has a tub with shower and there is a nook with a washer and dryer. All of the interior walls and hardwood floors are lovingly restored reclaimed wood dating back to the 1870s. This is really a couple's hideaway but the big sectional sofa in the living room can easily accommodate a child. There is a large front porch and a smaller back porch each with a table and chairs overlooking the expansive yard. Amenities include central air and heat, satellite TV, high speed internet, charcoal grill and all bed and bath linens are supplied. No telephone but excellent AT&T cell service.
