The Spirit of the Hill Country: Where Texas History and Adventure Meet

There’s a certain feeling you get when you step into the Texas Hill Country — a quiet mix of wonder, freedom, and belonging. Maybe it’s the wide skies that stretch forever, or the way the hills catch the evening light just right. Maybe it’s the old stone towns, where history whispers through limestone walls, or the rivers that carve their way patiently through time. Whatever it is, this place has a spirit all its own. It’s rugged yet graceful, wild yet welcoming — the kind of place that invites you to explore, stay a while, and remember what life feels like when it’s simple and real.

We had an incredible time at this airBNB property for our recent family trip! The home was exactly what we needed—clean, spacious, and very comfortable for both adults and kids. What really made this place stand out was how perfect it was for outdoor fun. From the moment we arrived, the kids had endless activities to enjoy. Whether it was exploring the yard, playing games outside, or just running around in the open space, there was always something to do. The location offered a peaceful escape while still being close to everything we needed. We spent our days outside soaking up the sunshine, enjoying nature, and making great memories together. It was the kind of trip where you could truly unplug and enjoy simple moments as a family. Highly recommend this home to anyone looking for a relaxing, kid-friendly getaway with lots of outdoor adventure. We’re already talking about when we can come back!

We had a fabulous stay. The property is absolutely breathtaking. It’s beautiful and elevated in the high hills. There were 15 of us, all ages plus 2 dogs. We enjoyed the pool, hiking trails, grilling, fishing and hanging out on the front porch. The house was clean and the kitchen was stocked with items and utensils enough to feed us all. There are some vehicles, a trailer and the owners house nearby but after being there a short while they didn’t seem obtrusive. The owner Anthony and his family were amazing and so helpful. It was a difficult week because of the rain and the tragic flood on the Guadalupe. We were completely safe and would love to return. Thank you for a fabulous 4th of July!

A group of us always try and get away a few days each year. This year we chose the Hill Country, and we could not have picked a better spot. We all love to cook, so the smoker, grill and amazing kitchen were perfect for great dinners. The pool was immaculate, and porch time was very relaxing. Could not recommend enough.

We had such a great time! Everything’s was wonderful! The owners are amazing and so sweet and helpful! I would give them 100 stars if I could! They is so much to do there even if you can’t go float cause the river is down! I was super impressed! Ty so much for having us and we will be back!

We had a girls’ weekend at the lodge and the setup is great for larger groups. The kitchen is spacious with high quality appliances and plenty of room for groceries. Everything was clean, and the pool area was our favorite part - just gorgeous. We spent most of our time there and on the expansive front porch looking over the lakes and hills. The hosts were super-friendly without being intrusive at all, and were very responsive to any questions or needs we had. We ended up not doing much hiking while there, but there is plenty of land to explore and it is in my opinion the prettiest part of Texas. We all highly recommend this property and hope to make it back someday.

This was our second visit to the property. We loved it so much the first time, we decided to come back. Lots of space for the family to spread out - plenty of seating in the living and dining rooms and lots of sleep space. We loved the view of the hills and amazing pool area. We will be back!
