The Spirit of the Hill Country: Where Texas History and Adventure Meet

There’s a certain feeling you get when you step into the Texas Hill Country — a quiet mix of wonder, freedom, and belonging. Maybe it’s the wide skies that stretch forever, or the way the hills catch the evening light just right. Maybe it’s the old stone towns, where history whispers through limestone walls, or the rivers that carve their way patiently through time. Whatever it is, this place has a spirit all its own. It’s rugged yet graceful, wild yet welcoming — the kind of place that invites you to explore, stay a while, and remember what life feels like when it’s simple and real.

My husband and I don’t get out much and when we do it’s most likely camping. But with the Texas heat it wasn’t ideal. The cabin was perfect for us! We were right by the water able to go fishing, star gazing at night, and also very private. This was the best non-camping, camping trip we’ve been on. We will definitely be back!
Summer
We spent the weekend here for my husband's 45th birthday. it was a great get away. it's quiet and peaceful. The host was amazing and very kind and sweet. We will definitely be back. The town has lots of history, and the deer were so beautiful to see. Hot tub was perfect!!
Andrea
Peace and quiet is what I wanted and this little slice of heaven was perfect for that! The cabin was cute and clean. The hot tub was the icing on the cake for sure! I loved sitting and watching the hummingbirds and turtles. I definitely look forward to coming back!

While the the cabin may be small it was absolutely perfect for my wife and I. It was so quiet and peaceful with an abundance of wildlife to see right outside the door. The owners home was close but you would never know and don’t let that discourage you. I never met Tricia but communicated with her via text. She was incredibly pleasant and helpful. I did meet Jon outside and he was a great character and very welcoming. The town of Bandera was exactly what you would expect of an old western town and even had a reenactment shootout on Saturday. I will never need to visit anywhere else in Texas just straight to the stronghold for a quiet time with Tricia and Jon. Thank you both and we look forward to visiting again in the future.
Autumn
Had a very relaxing, easy weekend. The bed was very uncomfortable and i would definitely bring an air matress next time, but the scenery and hot tub made up for the lack of sleep.
Stella
Cabin was very well stocked with all basic necessities plus. Very pleasant and peaceful. We took our 5 month old pup and he had a blast down at the creek. My husband spend a lot of his time fishing. Town was close enough in case we needed anything else. All in all we had a good time. My husband had a blast conversing with John and bought trees from John which will be a lasting memory of the Red Cloud Cabin. Which God willing we will be visiting again.
