Property Description

This stately historic home in Comfort was built in 1894 and has been restored with great attention to detail in order to retain the beauty of the original limestone walls, coved ceilings and hardwood floors. The renovations include a fully equipped kitchen, two baths with tub and shower combination, central air and heat and a cozy living room with an electric wood burning stove and satellite TV with DVD. The library off the large foyer sitting area serves as a third bedroom with a twin day bed and there are two bedrooms upstairs with a Queen bed and a double bed. The home is furnished with lovely period antiques, so the ambience is one of seamlessly blending the graciousness of the prior century with all of the modern conveniences. And, yes, you can keep in touch via Wi-Fi and great cell phone coverage. Other amenities include ceiling fans throughout, all bed and bath linens as well as four bath robes, a washer and dryer and a charcoal grill. Adults only please.

Windmill Inn is just beyond downtown with easy access to Comfort's offerings of historic buildings and homes, restaurants and antique, gift and apparel shops. It is minutes from two wineries and an excellent 18 hole golf course as well as Flat Rock Ranch, a 1300 acre Mountain bike area with 27 miles of bike trails.

Biker Rallies of Texas

Supporting and boosting local businesses and events is at the very heart of what we do at Backroads Reservations! The good folks at Biker Rallies of Texas are the devoted organizers of the most popular motorcycle rallies in the Hill Country. With major rallies in the spring and fall, they work nonstop to assure safety, organization, great memories, and a good time is had by all attending! They’ve got their start in 2000, when they arranged rallies in Liberty County and Kerrville, Texas. Two years later, they found their permanent home in Bandera. Let’s take a look at the two major events they currently host.

Boerne’s Hill Country Mile

In the hustle of modern American life, it’s easy to lose sight of an important cultural fact: it’s difficult to get everything done on your daily to-do list without a car. Too many towns have been designed with outwardly-expanding sectors of commerce that put one business or attraction miles away from another. The larger the size of the town, the more true this adage seems to be.

Wonderful almost country property that was comfortable and peaceful. Loved watching the horses in the morning and the gems I found during my morning walks around the neighborhood. Was very clean and had everything we needed. Great jump off point for many day trips with easy access. Highly recommend.

We loved our stay! This was our first time to use Airbnb. We were looking for a relaxing kid-free weekend and we got it. The house is inviting and cozy. The only neighbors we saw were the horses next door. The house was clean and the beds were very comfortable. The living room has an electric fireplace that was nice to use for the ambiance in the evenings. It was a quick drive in to town and the wineries. They really have thought of everything needed to have comfort in Comfort!

This was our second stay here. The house is perfect for 2 couples. Very clean, furnished with top of the line amenities. Comfortable beds, plush towels, everything very nice. We really appreciate the brand new Weber charcoal grill, which we used each evening. We love this location, being centrally located between Fredericksburg, Boerne, Kerrville and Bandera. The town of Comfort itself has very nice antique shops and great dining options, including Comfort Pizza and High St. Cafe. Downright Comfort, a store that has antiques and many unique items is a must visit.

We've stayed at many Airbnbs across the Texas Hill Country and this was one of the most enjoyable. A historic old house with well thought out additions, tastefully furnished with a mix of antiques and comfortable furniture. Thoughtfully decorated with fun pieces of art. The location was perfect being a short distance from Comfort's restaurants and shops. Centrally located between Bandera, Boerne and Kerrville which we all visited. The bed was comfortable and the towels plush. The provided robes were a nice luxurious touch. We will return.

This house is a gem in Comfort. It was perfect for our summer vacation. There was plenty of space for all of us to spread out. We took day trips to San Antonio and Fredericksburg and this was a great central point. We hope to stay again.

This house is enchanting. We did not want to leave. Sibling get together for a long weekend. Had space to all sit and visit and a large kitchen dining area for five adults. House was amazingly clean and all our needs were meet. Can not wait to come and stay again. The horse in the next pasture was a plus too.
