Vintage Spartan Trailer Coach
CHECK AVAILABILITYProperty Description
Step back in time to the fifties when Spartanettes were the trailers of choice to travel across America. In 1952 John Paul Getty began making these trailers at his airplane factory after building the famous Spartan aircraft used to win World War II. They were built with the same precision used to build his airplanes but they were exorbitantly expensive, thus they are rare. This Spartan has been lovely restored and is a treasure. The handcrafted woodwork and retro appliances are perfect including a small refrigerator with a freezer compartment, range top and oven and coffee grinder. New additions are a microwave, Kureg coffee maker, blender, full size mix master and all kitchen needs from pots and pans to flatware, dishes and glassware. The bedroom has a Queen bed with a pocket door for privacy. A twin is beyond that with a cedar lined closet. The sofa in the living area makes into a double bed. Dine at the table inside while viewing DVDs on the TV monitor or dine outside at one of several tables. The full bath offers a tub and shower combo. There is a private yard area with an electric grill or you can use the gas or charcoal grills shared with the Lee and Patriot cabins. All bed and bath linens are provided and there is a shared washer and dryer available as well. There are two roof mounted AC units and heat strips to insure a comfortable stay. No phone but great cell coverage.
The grounds are a joy to explore from the herb garden to the myriad of outdoor antiques and artifacts available at Country Accent Antiques. The Backyard Bistro which offers the finest dining in Bandera County is on the grounds as well as the large antique store.
