Property Description

Bandera is one of the most popular towns to visit in the Hill Country, and the Texas Two Step puts you in the heart of it all! This is a kid and pet-friendly guest home that sleeps up to ten, and it's located six blocks from Main Street in the Cowboy Capital of the World. That means it's not many steps for you to do your own two-step at the 11th Street Cowboy Bar, dinner at the OST, or to enjoy many of the town's shops, restaurants, and cowboy-themed attractions. This is how you enjoy Bandera!

Also popular in Bandera is the Medina River's tubing, swimming, fishing, and kayaking, and the Texas Two Step puts you right in the action there, too! It's a block from Bandera City Park, where you can access the river for a modest fee. This alone makes the Two Step's location attractive to visitors, and as a bonus it's a 15-mile drive to the pristine beauty of the Hill Country State Natural Area. You can also enjoy horseback rides from an outfitter two blocks away; you can't get more Texas than that!

At the Two Step, you'll find entertainment literally in your back yard! There's a shaded patio with comfy outdoor seating, a fire pit to gather round for s'mores and conversation, and a gas grill where you can showcase your BBQ skills. You can play games like corn hole (bags), horseshoes, and a giant four-in-a-row setup, a jumbo version of the popular board game! Birdwatchers love the feathered friends that stop by here, and there's also covered parking for your vehicles.

The vacation home has recently been remodeled, including central air and heat for adjustable comfort. Your interior space includes a living area, a lower lounge, and a dining area and kitchen island with additional prep space and seating. The full kitchen is equipped with gleaming new appliances and all the cooking and dining ware, utensils, and glasses you'll need. Complementary coffee and spices are included, too! Tech-wise, there are three smart TVs in the Two Step, and Wifi service everywhere. You'll also find a convenient laundry room near the lower lounge.

There's sleeping space for ten at the Two Step; three bedrooms feature one king and two queen-sized beds, and there's a large sectional couch in the downstairs lounge and two air mattresses you can place where you please. The master bedroom's full bath has a shower/tub combo, and a second full bath with a shower stall is shared by the other bedrooms. Fresh and clean linens are provided for all sleeping and bath spaces.

Bandera is yours to explore at the Texas Two Step! Touch base with us at Backroads Reservations, and we'll work our magic to make it your next Hill Country vacation HQ.

The Hill Country is Wine Country!

In the past two decades or so, the wine industry in the Hill Country has exploded with growth. That’s easy to see, with new wineries opening at a rapid pace...but we, and some of our readers, have questions. How are productive wine regions discovered? Are there official wine producing areas, and if so, how are they designated as such? This article will dig a little deeper into these questions and more.

A Handy Hill Country Q & A

At Backroads Reservations, we’re especially aware that the Texas Hill Country is reliant in a big way on tourism. We’re proud to welcome people here, and to introduce them to our own little corner of heaven. With that said, we’re also aware that everyone can’t be from here; we have a tongue-in-cheeksaying that “I’m not from Texas, but I got here as fast as I could.”

A Park By Any Other Name: Hill Country WMAs

Visitors to the Texas Hill Country are generally aware of the state, county, and city parks available to them for recreation and relaxation. From the sprawling 12,000-plus acres of the Government Canyon State Natural Area to the modest but still impressive 16 acres of Old Tunnel State Park, there’s plenty of space and natural diversity to explore, not to mention parks of wildly varying sizes!

Wonderful place to stay while visiting Bandera. Close to town and felt private. Nice house to relax in or outdoors. Would stay here again.
Nanci
My family stayed here for my sister’s ultramarathon race. Everything about this place was perfect. They had everything you’d need for cooking - pots, pans, plates, bowls, mugs, glasses. The bedrooms were very nice and each had their own tv. The backyard was amazing and I so wish our family could’ve enjoyed it but it was during the very cold Texas weather weekend. We want to come back during the summer and take full advantage of the perfect location and all the fun games they have set up in the backyard. They also went out of their way to deliver a space heater for the downstairs to help warm the area. Can’t recommend this place enough!!!
