Property Description

The Texas Salt Co. invites you to experience Bandera at their exclusive Salt Block! This is a kid-friendly group of six brand-new guest suites that comfortably accommodate up to two dozen people. Each suite at Salt Block has been created with a charming theme that evokes a personality all its own. It's a unique way to discover one of the most popular towns in the Hill Country with a prime location. It's close to nightlife and attractions, and is virtually in the shadow of the iconic water tower!

Every year thousands of visitors flock to Bandera for a genuine American cowboy experience, and the Salt Block is as great a spot in town as you're going to find! It's a two-story guest rental right downtown, with shops, restaurants, and attractions all within walking distance; as a matter of fact, the popular 11th Street Cowboy Bar is right around the corner! In addition, the biggest water attraction in town, the Medina River, is less than a mile away, where you can tube, kayak, fish, and swim. While all the suites at Salt Block are well-insulated, please note it's located in a vibrant and active neighborhood that can be noisy.

Bandera's own Texas Salt Co. will provide a flavorful touch of their award-winning smoked salts and spices to every suite at the Salt Block! No matter which suite you stay in, your kitchen will feature a complementary signature smoked products to sample, including their Cowboy Salt, Sea Salt, and Black Pepper. An on-site retail location with a full line of products is in the works, too! Your rental includes a dedicated on-property parking spot for each suite, with additional street parking available; motorcycles are welcome!

The Salt Block is certainly no slapped-together cookie-cutter lodging option! Each suite has its own distinctive name, and is decorated and furnished to reflect its own unique theme. There are three suites on the ground floor, and three upstairs, each with its own private entrance. Pets are welcome on the ground floor of the Salt Block, but we ask that you keep the second floor animal-free.

Your comfort, relaxation, and access to convenience were all kept in mind as the Salt Block building was renovated from ceiling to floor! For example, all six suites include central air, heat, and ceiling fans so you can adjust your environment to your personal comfort level. Entertainment for the whole family is built-in, too, with a Roku-ready smart TV in every suite, and Wifi Internet service is available to keep you connected.

As much as our guests love sampling the restaurants in Bandera, they often opt for an "at home" meal when they visit the Salt Block! There's a generously-appointed full kitchen in every suite that features new and gleaming appliances, including a fridge, oven and stove top, microwave, and even a dishwasher for quick and efficient cleanup. There's a brand-new coffee maker in all the suites, and dedicated coffee stations in the ground-floor kitchens. And don't forget to incorporate those free Texas Salt Co. spices into your favorite recipes!

There's nothing like a restful night's sleep after a full day spent exploring Bandera! Every suite at the Salt Block has two bedrooms, with sturdy and comfortable sleep accommodations for up to four people, and all beds are draped in clean and fluffy linens. The names, locations, and bed arrangements for the six suites are as follows:

The Hill Country is Wine Country!

That’s easy to see, with new wineries opening at a rapid pace...but we, and some of our readers, have questions. How are productive wine regions discovered? A Handy Hill Country Q & A

At Backroads Reservations, we’re especially aware that the Texas Hill Country is reliant in a big way on tourism. We’re proud to welcome people here, and to introduce them to our own little corner of heaven. With that said, we’re also aware that everyone can’t be from here; we have a tongue-in-cheeksaying that “I’m not from Texas, but I got here as fast as I could.”
