Biker Rallies of Texas

Supporting and boosting local businesses and events is at the very heart of what we do at Backroads Reservations! The good folks at Biker Rallies of Texas are the devoted organizers of the most popular motorcycle rallies in the Hill Country. With major rallies in the spring and fall, they work nonstop to assure safety, organization, great memories, and a good time is had by all attending! They’ve got their start in 2000, when they arranged rallies in Liberty County and Kerrville, Texas. Two years later, they found their permanent home in Bandera. Let’s take a look at the two major events they currently host.

Boerne’s Hill Country Mile

In the hustle of modern American life, it’s easy to lose sight of an important cultural fact: it’s difficult to get everything done on your daily to-do list without a car. Too many towns have been designed with outwardly-expanding sectors of commerce that put one business or attraction miles away from another. The larger the size of the town, the more true this adage seems to be.

This place was perfect for a quick, socially distanced Hill Country getaway. After driving about three-quarters of a mile off the highway on a dirt road, we walked into the house and immediately felt a wave of relaxation. The bedrooms, kitchen and bathrooms were well-appointed and there were plenty of games, books, and puzzles to keep us occupied in addition to TV and wi-fi. While our main outdoor activity was hiking around Lost Maples State Natural Area (about 40 minutes away), the Kingfisher Ranch itself has some great hiking trails for early morning, late afternoon or moonlight strolls. Having a fenced-in yard for the dog was nice, too. All in all, a very nice place for vacation in isolation.

Cute, cozy home away from home! The property is beautiful and full of hiking trails plus a creek for those looking to get away from the city to connect with nature. So peaceful, quiet and relaxing - we loved it so much we added another day! We drove from Houston to get here, and it was well worth it. The days were filled with birdsong and the nights were filled with stars. Wonderful stay, highly recommend!

We had a wonderful time at Kingfisher ranch. My wife and I went with two dogs for most of the week, and had two friends from Dallas join us for the weekend. The location was exactly what we wanted - secluded, away from people and highways, with lots of trails to explore, memorable picnicking spots all over, a scenic (muddy) creek for the dogs to splash around in (and capability to hose them down afterwards), lovely deck area with an excellent grill, fully equipped kitchen for cooking out, and much more. Worth mentioning also that Hill Country State Natural Area is just 20 minutes away and has rugged and dramatic hiking; and there is an access point to the clean, shallow and wade-able Medina at the top of the road to Bandera, which are both extremely convenient from this property. Loved it and already planning our next trip back!

Watching the hummingbirds and other wildlife each morning while drinking our Morning coffee was peaceful, taking hikes on the trails up the hills and along the creek was wonderful . The location is close to towns for supplies and also river tubing enjoyment. A wonderful get away. Thanks again

This was a really nice place to get away for a few days. Loved watching the birds from the deck, and the view from The Perch was amazing. I brought my telescope for some star gazing and I was NOT disappointed!!

We needed to get out of town to rest, reset and recharge. This location met all of our needs. There was ample room for our family of four and extremely dog friendly. The dog bowls full of water on arrival were a nice touch! We put our own blankets on the furniture and the provided dog bed in the master to make our pup feel more at home. She loved exploring the area on our morning walks with her and meeting the rabbits and deer in the area. I fell in love with the hummingbirds off the porch and was happy to greet the owner who came by to tend the feeders one afternoon. It was not an intrusion at all, and she understood that our dog’s protective response was not aggressive. Being a getaway during COVID, I was concerned about running out of essentials but that was not the case at all. All new soaps, sponges and plenty of paper products were provided. WiFi was enough for streaming from our Fire Stick and a Zoom meeting and webinar were great on the WiFi. No Verizon cell service is available, mentioned only as an FYI, not a concern. I went there to get away and got what I wanted. Our family played games, watched movies and visited Garner State Park and Hill Country State Natural Area for day hikes. Lost Maples was close as well but we prioritized the parks we’ve never visited. Dinner at Mac and Ernies did not disappoint. We would return again to this delightful property!
