Property Description

Gemutlichkeit! This German word means good cheer, and it's embodied by this warm and welcoming German Ranch Haus. "Omie" is German for "Grandma," and this was home to a sweet couple whose family and friends filled it for years. You can almost hear their hearty laughter! The mantle was built from a cedar tree, and its stump out back has the couple's names carved into it. Just ten miles from downtown Fredericksburg, this family weekend getaway is nestled in breathtaking Hill Country scenery.

With three bedrooms, and two-and-a-half baths, Omie's Ranch Haus in Fredericksburg is the perfect location for a family getaway or a gathering of friends. For modern amenities, it's appointed with a fully-furnished kitchen, fireplace, washer and dryer, TV with DVD player, and Wifi. The entire home is climate-controlled, with both heat and central air.

The open floor plan here is perfect for gatherings of all kinds. The living room features several couches and recliners, and a gas fireplace. Nearby, there's a dining room table that seats four. This property comfortably sleeps up to eight with two king-sized beds, one queen-sized bed, and a roomy full-sized sleeper sofa in one of the bedrooms. Bed and bath linens are also provided.

The kitchen radiates old-world charm without skimping on amenities. There's a fridge, microwave, stove, dishwasher, and Keurig coffeemaker (coffees and teas provided), as well as basic kitchen utensils. This kitchen was home to many meals and happy conversations-a tradition you're invited to continue!

Outside, there's a two-car covered and detached carport right next to the house. There are also two RV hookups for water and electricity; black water disposal is not available.

Surrounding the property are miles of paved country roads, making it perfect for hiking, biking, and motorcycle riding. There's ample shaded patio space, so you can enjoy the views in any weather. Out back is a fire pit-wood provided-and both front and back have plenty of patio furniture. There's even a corn hole (bags) game for you to enjoy!

What’s in a Name: Nameless, Texas

About five miles northeast of Lago Vista, and three north of Jonestown, you’ll find remnants of an interesting Hill Country ghost town. Nameless, Texas, never reached even 100 residents, and its overall history was fairly ordinary, but at the heart of its history is one of the most frustrating examples of governmental bureaucracy you’ll find anywhere.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Omie's Haus! The home was absolutely as described. The house was immaculate. The surroundings were breathtaking! We enjoyed all the animals. The home was cozy and could not have asked for a better experience. I will definitely be back with the family!!! Thank you so much!

My daughters and I rented this house for a Mother/Daughter getaway before my youngest gets married this spring, and we had an amazing stay! Originally, I chose this place because of the accessibility, as I recently had foot surgery and was on a knee scooter. The single level home with smooth concrete floors and the handicap accessible shower was perfect for me! But even beyond that, this house is perfect! My older daughter is a professional cook and she was so pleased with the incredibly well-equipped kitchen, which we never expect in vacation rentals. We had everything we needed to cook all our meals! The weekend was cold and drizzly, but the wonderful fireplace was so cozy and the extra blankets throughout the house were great to snuggle up with, especially as we used them to wrap up and enjoy the porch swing and rockers on the covered wraparound porch. We loved watching the sheep, deer, cows, and alpaca in the fields. It was so peaceful! We also enjoyed the games that were supplied…late night Mexican Train Dominos was our favorite. We never even turned on the TV, even though it had all the streaming channels we could need. I’m already working on plans for another visit! This will definitely be a place we will visit again and again!

Debbie and Bing are fabulous hosts and very personable. The property is beautiful and the views are breathtaking. We loved drinking our morning coffee while watching the wildlife. I highly recommend this property.

Just as the pictures show; the home is very clean and offers all of the amenities you would want and need. We spent almost the whole time outdoors when we were at the house. We grilled, hung out on the swings and star gazed every night. This home is perfect for all ages, and we hope to visit again soon!

This was the perfect place for me and a friend to stay. It was so clean and comfortable with everything you need for a home away from home, including a nicely equipped kitchen, very comfortable beds, and clean bathrooms. The sheep in the neighboring pasture were such a delight to watch and so were the deer, birds, and other wildlife that roamed around the surrounding land. The views were breathtaking and we delighted in sitting on one of the many porches each morning and evening to enjoy the peace and quiet. We greatly enjoyed our visit with the owners, Bing and Debbie, and look forward to staying in touch with them. It was truly the perfect place to rest, relax, and pray. We are so grateful and honored to have gotten to stay at Omie's Haus.
