Property Description

Imagine a private riverside resort, a kid-friendly and pet-friendly hideaway loaded with luxurious amenities, and tons of fun and relaxing things to do. All this and more awaits you at the Guadalupe River Retreat, one of the best Hill Country vacation destinations, tucked away in the gorgeous mountainous terrain just outside Boerne! It's perfect for nature lovers and travelers alike with its rural setting, but with the charming city of Boerne close by.

Fishing, swimming, and canoeing are all instantly available to you, thanks to a private Guadalupe River frontage, and you're set for tubing, too (contact Bergheim Campground and River Outfitters in Boerne for more info on floats). The property is at the end of the road, with no neighbors near this private Hill Country getaway, just wide-open countryside! If the shopping or night life bugs should bite, Bandera and Boerne are just a short drive away.

A shaded porch offers great views of the river and the terrain beyond, and the property is populated with both deer and birds; the latter love to visit the numerous feeders here. Along with patio furniture and a fire pit, there are two porch swings-one on the deck, the other on the river's bank. Ample parking is available for your vehicles.

The "wow factor" inside starts with over 50 linear feet of windows encircling the living area, inviting the beauty of the outdoors, indoors. There's ample seating in the living, seating and dining areas. The huge kitchen features modern appliances, cookware and serving ware, and there's also a washer/dryer combo. Three comfy bedrooms sleep up to seven: a king and a single day bed in the master; a queen in the second bedroom; and two singles in the third. All bed and bath linens are provided, with two full baths: the master features a jacuzzi and shower, the second has a shower/tub combo. There is also an additional half-bath. Central A/C and heat keep the house comfortable, and there's a satellite smart TV and DVD player for you to enjoy.

The views, the perks, the awesome waterfront location alongside a popular river-these factors, and so many more, make the Guadalupe River Retreat an incredible private Hill Country hideaway! Touch base with us at Backroads Reservations, and we'll happily help you book this Lone Star gem.

What guests are saying...

The property is very well maintained and very clean. It is off the beaten path which made the stay very peaceful and relaxing (just what we needed). Watching the wild life every morning and evening from the patio overlooking the Guadalupe River. We hated to leave and can't wait to go back! In addition, thanks Spencer (owner) for your superior communication the entire time.

The home was excellent. Walk down river access. We fly fished and caught dozens of blue gill, guadelupe bass, large mouth bass and a channel cat. Incredible home. Do yourself a favor and bring family here.

We got this house for my daughter and her bridesmaids , they loved it . We could not have stayed at a better place everyone loved it . We will be sending you some pictures as soon as we get them from the photographer. It just topped off an amazing weekend and made her special day even more so. Thanks Backroads we will definitely be using you again in the future.

We really enjoyed all the rental had to offer. We loved the layout of the property. All windows made for such an incredible view. The photos online do not do it justice. The balcony was used the most. Kitchen had everything we needs. Im not sure about the other beds but the king was amazingly comfortable. Our kids loved it. They loved playing in the river. My husband loved exploring. The hill was steep to get down. But that was the only workout we needed for the day. We highly recommend staying here with your family

This is a beautiful home with a spectacular view! The home overlooks the river and with the array of windows, you almost feel as if you are part of the trees. The wildlife and bird watching is fantastic! The river is down the hill (as describe), so would recommend to take everything you need down with you the first time (it's a hike back up), but once you are down there, it is perfection. We were there when the river was low, so the kids had a great time playing, fishing (we were not lucky in the fish department) and exploring the banks. The house itself was great! Everything you could need was there. For you coffee gurus, there was both a Keurig and a drip coffee maker! The location was the right distance from Boerne (about 15/20 minutes). We made our way into town with no trouble. Would also recommend checking out Cave without a name, which is right down the road. All in all, great trip! Highly recommend this location and our hosts were top notch!

We spent a month in this home with our 2 small children. It really felt like home. The house is so comfortable! Photos don’t do this home justice, it is beautiful. The view from the huge windows facing the Guadeloupe is breathtaking. Access to the river is steep but we were able to get get there with our toddlers. They loved splashing and fishing in the water. Lots of wildlife to watch and birds at the bird feeders on the porch. The house is perfectly clean and the decor is very cute. The beds were super comfortable! They had everything you could need including stuff for the kids. I hope we get a chance to return someday! We’re still a bit sad to not be in the house anymore. That place is just the best! The windows and the the view. The river access. The beds were super comfortable. Just felt Like home! Only suggestion I have is to provide more cleaning supplies to maintain the house during the stay. Overall I just can’t say enough nice things about this home! Thank you!”
