It's nestled in a peaceful neighborhood setting that has a private, out-in-the-country feel to it, yet it's only a few blocks away from downtown Bandera, and attractions like the 11th Street Cowboy Bar and the splashing fun of the Medina River!

Cypress Star is a short walk to Bandera City Park, which accesses the Medina River for a modest fee. Additionally, you have the option to have fun with disc golf, visit a skateboard park, utilize two playgrounds, or embark on horseback rides offered by a nearby outfitter just two blocks away. This makes it one of our most popular vacation homes, but there's so much going on right on the property, you may find it hard to drag yourself away! The fenced backyard provides safety for kids and pets. There are shaded porches out front and back, adorned with outdoor furniture. And we're just getting started!

Entertain on the back porch with a bar, beverage cooler, and Roku-equipped smart TV! There's a fire pit and pellet grill/smoker combo for cooking, and firewood is provided. Snuggle your special someone with glitter after dark with string lights over the patio and grove.Did we mention the cowboy pool? Check with us for its availability; if it's open, you've got to take a cowboy-style dip! Test your skills on the croquet field in the grove, fully decked out with equipment and beer holders! (Please return croquet items to the house when not in use.)

The roomy interior offers comfort, thanks to central air (split mini units in the bunk room), ceiling fans, and a fireplace in the back (the front fireplace is ornamental). There are two comfy seating areas, the larger of which has a Roku-equipped smart TV. The full kitchen includes all the appliances, cooking and serving ware, and utensils your crew will need, alongside a dining area and coffee bar. Added conveniences include Wifi Internet service and a washer and dryer.

Three bedrooms, along with an additional bunk room, provide great sleep space for up to a dozen people (please be aware the bunk room is only available for groups of more than six). That's one king-sized bed, two queens, and two sets of queen and twin bunk beds in all! The master bedroom and bunk room have their own smart TVs. Two spotlessly-clean full bathrooms are shared among the sleeping spaces, and have shower and tub combos for your cleanup needs. Fresh bed and bath linens are provided for everyone.

The Hill Country is Wine Country!

In the past two decades or so, the wine industry in the Hill Country has exploded with growth. That’s easy to see, with new wineries opening at a rapid pace...but we, and some of our readers, have questions. How are productive wine regions discovered? Are there official wine producing areas, and if so, how are they designated as such? This article will dig a little deeper into these questions and more.

A Handy Hill Country Q & A

At Backroads Reservations, we’re especially aware that the Texas Hill Country is reliant in a big way on tourism. We’re proud to welcome people here, and to introduce them to our own little corner of heaven. With that said, we’re also aware that everyone can’t be from here; we have a tongue-in-cheeksaying that “I’m not from Texas, but I got here as fast as I could.”

A Park By Any Other Name: Hill Country WMAs

Visitors to the Texas Hill Country are generally aware of the state, county, and city parks available to them for recreation and relaxation. From the sprawling 12,000-plus acres of the Government Canyon State Natural Area to the modest but still impressive 16 acres of Old Tunnel State Park, there’s plenty of space and natural diversity to explore, not to mention parks of wildly varying sizes!

I 100% recommend this home. The backyard is beautiful and large enough for family gatherings. The home was well-equipped, and the beds were comfortable. We had a wonderful stay and can't wait to return.

It was a nice house and we really enjoyed staying there! I was pleasantly surprised how clean it was! It was a 10 out a 10 rating from me. I would definitely stay again. The host was very nice and very attentive.

We stayed from Thursday - Sunday and the home was definitely CLEAN!! The home was in a great location! The backroads reservationist were extremely helpful!!

Spent the weekend here with a group of friends. The house is spacious and well-supplied - everything we needed in the kitchen, lots of outdoor games for the backyard. The backyard is even better than it looks in the photos! Lovely covered back porch, lots of space, birds and butterflies! Easy walk to Main Street to go to restaurants, shops, and bars but far enough away that it was very quiet and private. Would go again!

Such a beautiful and well-kept home that we were fortunate to be able to stay at for a month! Shortly after we arrived we, there was a minor plumbing issue. Reached out to Spencer later evening and by 8 am the next day (on a Sunday), we had a plumber arrive and take care of the issue! Excellent response! The king bed was so comfortable! Wi-Fi speed was great! Kitchen is well-stocked. There is an ample supply of nice dinnerware but it’s not microwaveable (the bakeware is). We bought some cheap plates to use (just 2 of us so not a big deal). The linens throughout the house are quality. The yard is beautiful and fenced which our poodle loved romping in! Didn’t get to use the cowboy pool but they had it filled and ready to go for us. Thank you for making our stay a great experience! We look forward to another winter getaway at one of Backroads Reservations homes!!

We absolutely loved The Cypress Star. It was perfect for hanging out with our family and furry buddies. The house is spacious and well stocked. The backyard is fantastic with a great fence for those fur babies. We loved sitting on the front porch watching all the deer come up. The outside amenities were just wonderful and we spent three majority of our time hanging out outside. We had local family over for Thanksgiving and the property had everything we needed to entertain and serve a large meal. We will definitely be staying there again the next time we come to Bandera.
