Property Description

7 Canyons Lodge - Wapiti Room Sleeps 4 in 2 queen beds and has a private bath (downstairs)

The 7 Canyons Ranch is home to Seco, a wapiti (elk); Solo, a majestic European stag; and Zeus the zebra. Their presence here is celebrated in this lakeview vacation home, in the Wapiti Room! While they call the place home year-round, when you visit, you'll enjoy such human amenities as a hot tub, wireless Internet service, and a great big BBQ pit. Bandera, the Cowboy Capital of the World, and Tarpley are Hill Country towns nearby, so you'll be close to the best of both city and rural enjoyment!

The 7 Canyons Ranch is also centrally located in the midst of several popular spots in the Hill Country, such as tubing on the Medina River, Garner State Park, and the Hill Country and Lost Maples State Natural Areas-all are within 30 minutes. On the grounds themselves, there's a private lake for catch-and-release fishing (seasonal), several hiking trails, and several great vantage points for bird watching and wildlife viewing. The Wapiti Room is a kid-friendly space that's perfect for a family getaway!

The Wapiti Room is situated on the main level of the 4,000 square foot 7 Canyons Ranch Lodge. The lodge itself is a great place to meet and share stories with your fellow travelers; sit a spell and create new memories around the "Liar's Pit" fire pit! There's also a BBQ pit, and the relaxing and bubbling warmth of a hot tub to enjoy. Inside, belly up to the bar or try your skills at the pool table, or just unwind around the fireplaces and big-screen satellite TVs in the two enormous den areas-the TVs also have DVD and VCR players. Shared lodge extras also include private conference areas, and use of the lodge's enormous caterer's kitchen. Smokers are welcome, but light up outside only, please.

Elk and deer mementos adorn the warm and cozy interior of the Wapiti Room, which-like the rest of the lodge-is climate-controlled with central air and heating. Two plush queen-sized beds sleep up to four in luxurious comfort, and you'll have your own private bath with a shower. Soft bed and bath linens are included when you book here, and for added convenience, there's also a mini-fridge and Wifi Internet service in your room.

The Wapiti Room is a family-friendly vacation rental that perfectly balances luxury, location, and fun at a budget-friendly rate. If you would like accommodations for a larger group, Backroads Reservations can also book additional rooms at the lodge, or the entire lodge itself, for your crew.

The Cowboy Capital of the World: Why Bandera Still Rides Tall

There are towns in Texas with cowboy roots — and then there’s Bandera. Nestled along the Medina River, surrounded by rolling hills and wide-open ranchland, Bandera isn’t just proud of its heritage — it lives it every day. Known far and wide as the Cowboy Capital of the World, Bandera embodies the spirit of the Old West with a genuine authenticity that’s getting harder to find. Here, boots aren’t just for show, rodeos still pack the stands, and a handshake still means something.

The Spirit of the Hill Country: Where Texas History and Adventure Meet

There’s a certain feeling you get when you step into the Texas Hill Country — a quiet mix of wonder, freedom, and belonging. It’s rugged yet graceful, wild yet welcoming — the kind of place that invites you to explore, stay a while, and remember what life feels like when it’s simple and real.
