Property Description

7 Canyons Lodge - Bluebonnet Room Sleeps 4 in 2 queen beds and has a private bath (downstairs)

Just as Ireland has its shamrocks, and France has the fleur de lis, Texas has its bluebonnets! They're our state flower, and they add vibrant beauty to our landscape. The Bluebonnet Room at the 7 Canyons Ranch commemorates Texas' favorite flower in this lakefront vacation home. A hot tub, spacious and relaxing dens, and fire pit are just a few of the extras your family will enjoy here, and it's perched just a hop, skip, and jump down the road from Hill Country towns like Tarpley and Bandera!

Outdoor beauty abounds on this spacious ranch, with ample room for wildlife watching, fishing and hiking-there's a private lake on the grounds stocked specifically for catch-and-release fishing (seasonal), for example. What's more, there are several natural attractions all within a half hour of the ranch: Garner State Park, the Lost Maples and Hill Country State Natural Areas, and tubing on the Medina River. Its location puts it high on the list of the Hill Country's greatest kid-friendly family vacation destinations!

The lodge itself is huge, with 4,000 square feet of space for your crew and your fellow guests. Sink into the warmth of the hot tub, grill up a meal at the BBQ pit, or share tales with new-found friends around the "Liar's Pit" fire pit! Feel up to a game of pool? Well, there's a pool table inside, as well as two large dens, decked out with fireplaces, large-screen satellite TVs, DVD and VCR players, and a bar area. If you need a private spot, conference rooms are available, and bigger and more extravagant meals can be prepared in the lodge's massive caterer's kitchen. All these common area amenities are yours to enjoy when you book here! Smoking is allowed, but outside only.

The soft and soothing colors of a Texas field aglow with bluebonnets highlights the theme of the Bluebonnet Room. Your tech extras include Wifi Internet service, and central air and heating for interior comfort. Up to four people can sleep comfortably here on the two soft queen-sized beds. Your space also has a private bathroom with a shower, and all bed and bath linens are provided here. Drinks and snacks can be tucked away in the mini-fridge in your room, as well.

Spoil your friends and family in this warm and friendly guest lodge in the Texas Hill Country! By the way, if you're planning a getaway for a larger group, the entire lodge can be booked for even more privacy; ask us at Backroads Reservations for details.

The Hill Country is Wine Country!

In the past two decades or so, the wine industry in the Hill Country has exploded with growth. That’s easy to see, with new wineries opening at a rapid pace...but we, and some of our readers, have questions. How are productive wine regions discovered? Are there official wine producing areas, and if so, how are they designated as such? This article will dig a little deeper into these questions and more.

A Handy Hill Country Q & A

At Backroads Reservations, we’re especially aware that the Texas Hill Country is reliant in a big way on tourism. We’re proud to welcome people here, and to introduce them to our own little corner of heaven. With that said, we’re also aware that everyone can’t be from here; we have a tongue-in-cheeksaying that “I’m not from Texas, but I got here as fast as I could.”

A Park By Any Other Name: Hill Country WMAs

This is just what we needed! It was our anniversary and we typically go to the beach because I love the beach! Decided to do something different! So glad we did! Away from all the hustle and bustle! this place has everything you need! It was absolutely beautiful at night and loved seeing the animals on the property! We also took a hike at Lost Maples as well! We definitely plan on coming back!
