River Access | Sleeps 5 | Free Early Check-In (when available) | Free Hill Country Travel App

Welcome to your private slice of the Texas Hill Country - a peaceful, newly renovated getaway on 15 acres overlooking rolling hills, with quick access to the crystal-clear Nueces River and some of the best sunsets in the state. Set on a secluded ranch near Camp Wood and Uvalde, this two-bedroom, two-bath home blends rustic charm with thoughtful modern upgrades. It's an ideal place to unwind, reconnect with nature, or sneak in a little remote work thanks to brand new fiber optic internet.

The home is warm and inviting, with an open-concept kitchen and living room anchored by a wood-burning rock fireplace, green cabinetry, butcher-block countertops, and a farmhouse sink. The primary bedroom has a private ensuite; a second bedroom accesses a full hall bath - both with handmade-style blue tile showers and brushed gold fixtures. A side room with a queen bed sleeps extra guests. You'll rest on Tuft & Needle memory foam mattresses in Thuma frames, and mornings are best spent with the European Moccamaster coffee setup. A large sunroom wraps the back of the house with floor-to-ceiling windows, patterned tile floors, and mid-century seating overlooking the deer feeder, where whitetail and axis deer wander in at dawn. The home has half a gigabit fiber optic internet inside and out, central heat and air, ceiling fans throughout, softened well water with multi-filtration UV treatment, and a washer and dryer.

Step outside and you'll understand why people fall in love with this place. The hilltop sits above the Nueces Canyon with unobstructed views, and every evening the sky fills with color as the sun drops behind the hills. This is a Bortle 2 dark sky zone - one of the darkest skies on Earth - making it world-class for stargazing and astrophotography. A telescope is provided. On a clear night you can see the Milky Way with the naked eye, a depth of sky most people have never experienced. Private and public Nueces River access is just a 5-minute drive for swimming, wading, or kayaking. Multiple shaded decks and covered seating surround the house, a fire pit with Adirondack chairs faces the hills, a hammock waits under the trees, and a custom-built stone BBQ and smoker stands ready.

This home is all about slowing down. Sip coffee while deer graze outside the sunroom. Watch the sky paint itself at dusk. Lie under stars bright enough to change how you think about the night. Whether you're here to relax, write, hike, photograph the night sky, or simply breathe, this place gives you room to do it.
