The Cowboy Capital of the World: Why Bandera Still Rides Tall

There are towns in Texas with cowboy roots — and then there’s Bandera. Nestled along the Medina River, surrounded by rolling hills and wide-open ranchland, Bandera isn’t just proud of its heritage — it lives it every day. Known far and wide as the Cowboy Capital of the World, Bandera embodies the spirit of the Old West with a genuine authenticity that’s getting harder to find. Here, boots aren’t just for show, rodeos still pack the stands, and a handshake still means something.

What a beautiful location! Warm hospitality and eclectic touches abound! The ladder “Christmas Tree” is so clever! You will love the breakfasts and your hosts. We hiked Lost Maples, visited nearby towns, and enjoyed driving the scenic farm roads in this part of the hill country.
Linda
Wow! This B&B is so charming! The room was immaculate and the grounds beautiful & quiet! The hostess cooks & serves up the most amazing breakfast! We enjoyed beautiful night-time stars, fishing & bird watching. Great place to unplug & get back with nature. Wish we could have spent more time, but will definitely be back!

If you're looking for somewhere to unplug and unwind, look no more. Our host was absolutely amazing and beyond accommodating. There is a peace and simplicity about this place you just can't find anymore with our habitual must keep busy attitude. Turn off your phone, kick off your shoes and relax.
